FAQs
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I always have a quick phone consultation with new clients in which we discuss their goals for their new resume as well as their previous experience. I ask that they send me their current resume and/or cover letter so that I have a better idea of next steps. Sometimes I review the resume and all it needs is a template change and some light edits. If that is the case, I adjust the quote accordingly. I also ask if there are any links for jobs that interest the client, that they send to me to review. That helps me craft the resume towards landing the next opportunity. I can usually turn around resumes and cover letters in 7 days (faster if you need it).
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I host monthly focus groups with a team of professional affiliates, many work in Human Resources, some are CEOs etc. in various industries to make sure that I stay up-to-date on the formats, formalities and key information these hiring managers are looking for.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I've worked in publishing for over a decade and have sorted through millions of resumes over the years, hiring my own team members as well as the staff for other departments. In another life I should have worked in HR because I sincerely enjoy helping people find jobs and the resume is the first step. I was doing so many resumes for friends and family that I decided to create a business out of it.
