FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My classes are typically one hour and that is what is reflected in the pricing. If you want longer lessons I can adjust the price. I don't recommend classes less than one hour.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Beginning students start with the How-Not-To-Break-The-Sewing-Machine lesson. It's about 1 hour and goes over all the parts of the machine. No materials are needed for this lesson. Students sew on paper (PDF) with no thread to learn how to use the machine. If there is time we also go over the different feet and accessories that came with your machine or are commonly used. Sometimes we get to threading the machine and winding a bobbin on this lesson, if not, it is in the second lesson. Intermediate students work on skills and projects of their own choice.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been sewing for over 50 years. I have been teaching sewing to students 7 and up for 10 years.
