About
In-person classes are in the Fort Lauderdale area. Online Zoom classes are available nationwide. If you want in-person classes and do not live in South Florida, please find someone local to your location.
I do not sew for people. Please do not ask me if I will make anything for you.
The first sewing lesson for beginners is the how not to break the sewing machine lesson. After that we start on simple straight line projects - skirt, pillow, drawstring bag. Students will start using patterns about lesson 4.
My online students progress at the same speed as my in-person students. I have 5 cameras with multiple views, including close ups which make it easy to follow.
For students with some experience, we work on the skill or project they want help with.
Embroidery, by hand and machine, and hand sewing lessons and basic quilting classes are also available.
I can't wait to hear from you.

FAQs
What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My classes are typically one hour and that is what is reflected in the pricing. If you want longer lessons I can adjust the price. I don't recommend classes less than one hour.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Beginning students start with the How-Not-To-Break-The-Sewing-Machine lesson. It's about 1 hour and goes over all the parts of the machine. No materials are needed for this lesson. Students sew on paper (PDF) with no thread to learn how to use the machine. If there is time we also go over the different feet and accessories that came with your machine or are commonly used. Sometimes we get to threading the machine and winding a bobbin on this lesson, if not, it is in the second lesson.
Intermediate students work on skills and projects of their own choice.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been sewing for over 50 years. I have been teaching sewing to students 7 and up for 10 years.
