FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Custom homes and Remodeling are by their very nature, one of a kind. As such, each job price is based upon the labor, materials, hard costs and supervision necessary to achieve the customer's desired results.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
The initial contact is typically an email, followed by a phone call to get familiar and discuss a Site visit. Once the scope of work is discussed it will become apparent which resources will be needed to move forward with an estimate. Items such as plans, specifications, surveys etc help to define what is desired and the parameters which are available. Once a budget and a proposal are ready, it will be presented to the customer for approval. Then, scheduling, permitting, and other pre-construction work will begin. If a permit is required, then construction will begin shortly after all permitting is completed. The project will then be run in a manner that achieves the best results most efficiently until the project is completed. Of course, my desire is to achieve meaningful progress each workday.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Although I have several years of University, I have learned everything I know about construction by doing it myself. I have worked as a carpenter, handyman, Remodeler and finally Homebuilder. I have expertise in High Performance building techniques, Building science, energy efficiency and storm resistance.
