Can’t say how thankful I am for their service had a crack in the concrete on my patio they cut out the slab put mesh and rebar in it and went the whole 9 yards for me it looks great !!!

First of all the people seemed cool but I’ll just state our side and we were upset with the misleading final cost for what appeared to be a miscommunication on their part. After they completed their service and showed us the final cost, we were confused because it wasn’t what we agreed to earlier. I went ahead and paid them anyway because I’m respectful of our time but I felt something was off and reviewed the evidence and asked other handymen for second opinions. None of them along with the evidence agreed with what this service was asking for. We picked this service over others because Thumbtack labeled this service as a “great value”. It’s not the correct label for our small need and we wished we would have went with other handymen. What we needed: fix the leak from the attic. They pointed the problem to a heater pipe leak repair in the attic. Gave us the quote for the entire fix including drywall. The cost was excessive so we said no to drywall repair. Just the pipe repair. My dad asked the total cost for it and a number was noted. No mention of “per hour” and it’s not on us to know that. 2 men, 2 trips, 4 hours later for a small part replacement for the heater water pipe. They took their time doing it. Then showed us the final cost, wow the quote they gave us earlier was actually a hourly rate. I asked for a clarification on this in our Thumbtack conversation and they denied not ever mentioning “per hour” to my dad. Huh because my dad has the conversation saved, we’re deaf and use the notes app to communicate. They doubled down on the claim that they mentioned “per hour” but no, it's not what they wrote down in the note app. I’m tired of us deaf people being played for dumb. Your mileage may vary but for us we felt that they weren’t being honest and overcharged us. They offered a discount for a future service with them and it’s hard for us to accept that after what has happened today.
