My kids have been taking piano lessons for a while at various places. They just start with Octo music and the instructor is fabulous. His teaching style is a combination of everything. My kids love how and what they are learning. He is patience and uses computer to train their hearing and make it fun while learning. He is the best teacher they have had. Davina

Octo music studio is the best place to develop your music skills. My daughter Grace B. takes piano lesson there. Ronald has patients with children, and that’s important to me. If you want to learn to play the piano , I highly recommend this school. Ronald is an outstanding teacher. He takes the time to get to know each student’s need. You won’t find a better teacher. What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Your first lesson is a FREE 1-hour trial. After that, lessons are weekly and billed monthly — no long-term contracts:
- 30 min: $35/lesson ($140/month)
- 45 min: $45/lesson ($180/month)
- 60 min: $50/lesson ($200/month)
Online (Zoom) and in-home lessons available in the Jacksonville area. Florida Step Up for Students (ESA/PEP/FES-UA) families: ask about scholarship-eligible lessons.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
1. Free 1-hour trial lesson: we play, talk about goals and I check the student's current level.
2. I ask what the student wants to accomplish — play in a band or church, play for fun, sing and play, read music or play by ear.
3. I build a written game plan around those goals, using a wide variety of teaching tools and interactive lessons.
4. Weekly lessons with progress updates for parents. Students play real songs they love from the first lesson, so they stay motivated while building solid technique and reading skills.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I started learning piano and music theory at the CCS school of music about 40 years ago. I train there for about 5 years then went on to study composing, songwriting, music technology.
