There are numerous benefits to receiving a massage, including decreasing stress, pain management, boosting immunity, managing anxiety and depression, reliving muscle stiffness, lowering blood pressure, improving range of motion, improving the skin's condition including reducing scar tissue and stretch marks, increasing circulation, improving the quality of sleep, releasing endorphins, and so much more. Our clients boast of feeling years younger, elevated levels of energy, renewed physical well-being, improved sleep, and more. With results like these, it's easy to see why so many people choose to make massage therapy at Mandarin Counseling & Wellness as a part of their health care regimen. Techniques: * Deep tissue - This is designed to relieve severe tension in the muscles and connective tissues. This type of massage focuses on muscles located below the surface of the top muscles. * Medical massage - Medical massage is an outcome-based massage, primarily the application of a specific treatment targeted to the specific problem area. A thorough assessment and evaluation is performed by the therapist, with specific outcomes being the basis for treatment. * Sports massage - The therapy is geared towards athletes of every kind, focusing on areas of the body that are overused and stressed from repetitive movements. * Reflexology - This is a combination of Swedish and sports massage that treats the entire lower leg. This is especially helpful for plantar fasciitis. * Neuromuscular - Neuromuscular therapy by definition is utilization of static pressure on specific myofascial points to relieve pain. This technique manipulates the soft tissue of the body to balance the central nervous system. A therapist trained in NMT is educated in the physiology of the nervous system and its effects on the muscular and skeletal systems. The neuromuscular therapist is also educated in kinesiology and biomechanics, and how to work in a clinical or medical environment. * Swedish - Swedish massage therapy is the modality that comes to mind when most people think about massage. As the best-known type of bodywork performed today, one of the primary goals of the Swedish massage technique is to relax the entire body. This is accomplished by rubbing the muscles with long, gliding strokes in the direction of the blood returning to the heart, but Swedish massage therapy goes beyond relaxation. Swedish massage is exceptionally beneficial for increasing the level of oxygen in the blood, decreasing muscle toxins, and improving circulation and flexibility, while easing tension. The health benefits of massage: * Massage calms the nervous system and promotes a sense of relaxation and well being. * Massage reduces tension and anxiety. * Massage improves blood circulation, which delivers oxygen and nutrients to the cells. * Massage stimulates the lymphatic system, which carries away the body's waste products. * Massage prevents and relieves muscles cramps and spasms. * Massage therapy can help with pain management in conditions such as arthritis, sciatica and muscle spasms. Remind yourself of these health benefits if you start to feel guilty about getting massage! Cost: * Massage: $60.00 - 1 hour * Chair massage: $20 - 15 minutes * Home or office services (within 15 miles of office): $90 - 60 minutes Ask me about my workplace services for your employees!
