FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am newly CPR/AED certified and continue to receive online Continuing Education Credits. (CEU's) I always pay close attention to aging topics in the news, I think the more me know the better off everyone will be.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
Have a high level respect for the elderly, am close with my Grandparents and want to share my love and talent to the world.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
The daily routine is different for each case. Some clients are very particular about staying on a schedule, some go with the flow and let me guide them through each day. We make a grocery list together, shop sometimes with and sometimes without the client. Get a load of laundry going, check the mail and go over what's "junk" and what is important. Assist them with making any type of phone calls, such as calling in a prescription, or setting up a hair appointment and then taking them. Some clients are totally living alone and away from family, so I will help them organize their bills, medical paperwork etc. It's always on my daily list to make sure we sit together whether its on the couch, outside on a bench or while driving to get in some good conversation. Get their minds going and learn about each other. Make sure they are eating, I'll fix them some lunch, or a snack depending on what hours we spend together.
