Attorney William Strawcutter has been representing me in a foreclosure action for over 5 years and counting. His fees are reasonable for the amount of work he has already put in. Mr. Strawcutter is quick to respond, thorough, detailed and knowledgable. For anyone looking to retain a great Attorney, I would strongly recommend consulting with Mr. Strawcutter first.

I first met Ms. Arwani through an interview process and was attracted to her compassion for her knowledge, under promise-over deliver process along with a double - triple team approach offered with Arwani Nava Law. Most attorneys often have ulterior motives with only increased revenue in mind that ultimately leaves clients (my friends & families experiences) with a sour taste in their mouth... Ultimately, I was in need of her services so I didn't hesitate to reach out to her. With a response w/in hours from Ms. Arwani my overwhelm and blood pressure was eased as she assured me I would be able to continue seeing my two children at least 50% of time during the week instead of losing custody of my precious daughters. I Highly recommend her and her partner Lacy Nava along with staff to ease your heartache during your stressful times concerning your Family or Personal Injury needs. Thanks Rania & Lacy!

Stacey Wilson and I met quite a few years ago when I learned she is an attorney who practices everything including immigration law, coincidentally I had a very complicated immigration case pending for 10 years yes...10 years! I entrusted Stacey with my case and needless to say I obtained my permanent residence in just six months after I gave her my case. It's unbelievable to say I'm currently studying for my citizenship. Stacey Wilson is a wonderful attorney that gets the job done! If your case is complicated (and if you are even facing deportation) and you feel stuck and hopeless. Please call Stacey Wilson at Wilson Legal Group 877 538 6294 I guarantee that your issues will be resolved. She is dedicated and she cares. Thank you Ms. Wilson for everything! You are simply the best!

When Natalie took my husband’s immigration case, it was at a crucial point in the process. Strapped for cash, we originally submitted application forms and documents on our own. My husband was also skeptical about lawyers because he had been burnt by one before. We had 30 days to prove eligibility for an unlawful presence waiver because the information we submitted did not adequately satisfy the grounds for the law. Natalie advised we had a good case which, if not properly presented, could easily be denied. From day one, she demonstrated her professionalism through thorough concise analysis of our case. Natalie spoke with us in easily understood language, explaining all the information/documents she would need to build our case. She set deadlines and made sure we stuck to them. Not only did she do her magic but she also compassionately designed a payment plan we could afford. At the end of the 30 days, our documents were submitted, we were provided copies of all documents submitted along with a summary of her arguments. We were granted the waiver and Natalie kept in touch with us throughout the process. I would recommend this lawyer to all those individuals who are searching for a compassionate professional who is meticulous in the work she does.

I hired Attorney Rosabel Colón to handle my case and I am so impressed with her professionalism, patience, knowledge and understanding of my case. She is genuine, nice, friendly, and responsible. I was unsure of whether to hire a lawyer but once I met with Attorney Rosabel she was so friendly and knew all of the answers to my questions ( I ask a lot of questions) I decided to hire her. My case has gone through really quickly and smoothly thanks to her. I am very thankful for her help. And wish her the best for the future.

My family decided to seek out a lawyer when we became rather anxious about the extremely long wait for our green card petition (we're talking about a decade here), so the first person that came to mind was Benjamin Rust. As I have known him for a bit before we hired him as our attorney, I was assured that he will do his very best to help my family with our situation. He is super reliable, responds to email promptly and very friendly, so I would definitely recommend him to anyone who's looking to hire an immigration attorney.

I found The Morgan Law Firm, P. A. online Google search. I scheduled meeting with the lawyer. Because of my work hours I could only do it after 6 pm. The attorney said she will see me after 6 pm. My case was a complicated case but miss Morgan took all the time to explain everything step by step. She told me exactly what can happened, what I should expected and when. I trusted her and let her take my case. I followed all of the steps, complited all the documents she requested and the process started. During the process my paralegal was in contact with me as well as the attorney herself. All my questions were answer in a normal timing and all the process was shorter than we expected. I highly recommend The Morgan Law Firm, P.A. Oh, by the way my friend is using criminal defense lawyer Jason in the Morgan Law firm and he is also very happy. Especially with the communication between him and the attorney.

    Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

What does an immigration attorney do?

Immigration lawyers help their clients through all phases of the immigration process. Experts on immigration law, they are legally qualified to represent U.S. citizens, permanent residents or undocumented immigrants. Immigration lawyers also provide assistance to visitors here on student, work or travel visas, and can represent clients who may have an expired visa or who have overstayed their visa.

You can hire an immigration lawyer to assist you with petitioning for renewing a permanent resident or green card, navigating the naturalization process, submitting an employee-based petition for a work visa, filing a petition for a family member, or representing you or a loved one who is facing detention or deportation, as well as replacing, extending or changing a current visa, green card or work permit. The immigration process is highly complex, with multiple hearings, paperwork and requirements. Hiring a legal expert to represent you can help you make your best effort in the process. When researching immigration lawyers, it is very important to verify their qualifications and find a reputable attorney. Read reviews and verify that the immigration lawyer is licensed by your state before paying any fees.

How do you find a good immigration lawyer?

Research is key to finding a good immigration lawyer. The immigration process can be overwhelming and complex, so a trustworthy advocate is critical. When you have identified several eligible candidates, verify their immigration law license to protect yourself and your finances. Once you have a set of licensed immigration lawyers in mind, choose one based on these considerations:

    • Mutual respect: You want an immigration lawyer who treats you and your family with kindness and consideration. You’ll do the same for them.
    • Availability: Before hiring, note if they have responded promptly to your emails and calls. You don’t want to hire someone you have to chase around.
    • Proven success: Read former client reviews and research their success rate with cases similar to yours.
    • Transparent rates: Ask directly about what their rates are, how they bill, and what they estimate your legal fees will be. Ask if they will sign a fee agreement, and get receipts for all fees paid.
    • Verify who will handle your case: Sometimes junior lawyers work on firm cases. This is okay, as long as you have discussed it and are comfortable with it. When junior lawyers or paralegals are working on your case, ask if the hourly rate is lower.
    • Be wary of anyone who promises you specific results: No case is certain, and the immigration lawyer should be honest about what you can expect.

How much does an immigration lawyer cost?

Immigration lawyers are experts in the nuances of the highly complex United States immigration system. They help clients of all backgrounds petition for immigration status and become U.S. citizens, and can represent clients who are facing deportation or detention. Nationally, the cost people pay for immigration lawyers averages $500-$1,010. The services you need will have a huge effect on your costs. For routines cases, such as applying for a travel visa, an immigration lawyer may be able to confidently quote you a set price, while more open-ended cases may be billed at an hourly rate of $200-$500, or more, depending on the reputation and experience of the firm and lawyer. Before hiring an immigration lawyer, ask what their plan for your case is and what expected costs may be. Many immigration lawyers work from retainers, and request a set amount of money upfront from which to work. For example, a lawyer who charges $300 per hour may estimate $4,000 for a standard family-based immigration case, the common process in which a U.S. citizen petitions for permanent residency for their spouse, fiancee or family members.
