FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My pricing system varies from project to project. For a one-off job, I might charge per word. For larger projects I would charge a flat fee based on the amount of time I estimate that the job would take to complete.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
First the client will communicate me, usually via email or phone, exactly what they want — website content? product descriptions? ebook editing? I will then quote a fee based on the particular job. How long will the job take? Should the fee be a flat fee, or a per word rate? If the customer is agreeable, I would then do the work they request. I usually allow for one or two revisions with no additional charge. In this way, my client will be sure to get what they are looking for. In new relationship, revisions are inevitable as I discover what my client wants, so I do not charge extra for that.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a copy editor. Most recently I edited a book on integrative medicine. I have a bachelor's degree, and a law degree. I am also a scriptwriter.
