FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a info-holic! I tell clients that one of the reasons I charge what I do is because I reinvest so much money into continuing education. When you invest in me as a personal trainer, your investment comes back to you in the new and more effective techniques . You pay the same amount of money but get a better service. Tell me where else can you find that type of deal! Although I spend a lot of time and money for continuing education, I always find a way to make what I learn practically applicable to so that my clients benefit from better results.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I always wanted to be in the health or medical field. I had been into fitness since I was 12 but never considered doing it as a profession. At first I wanted to study neurobiology then I decided spending my days in a laboratory doing research was not what would make me happy. Then I wanted to go into medicine to become a doctor. I took all my pre-med classes and received very good grades but I wasn't resonating with the current state of medicine. I appreciate people who take all the steps to become doctors but I decided it wasn't right for me. That is when I realized that fitness is my calling in life. I may still go back to school to get my doctorate in Physical Therapy as I believe that managing injuries and age related degeneration is going to be very important for keeping people fit in the near future.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
People come to me for two reasons: 1. To "lose weight and tone up" for the ladies and "lose weight and build muscle" for the men. I use strength training, interval training and cardiovascular training combined with nutrition and supplement counseling to get you results. I also have a physician I refer clients to if there is a physiological problem like low thyroid or low testosterone levels. 2. To get out of pain and improve their function with exercise and soft-tissue techniques. I use a combination of targeted exercise and flexibility techniques that is individualized to my client based on an assessment of their abilities and pathology.
