I had been avoiding looking back at my college essay for months. All my friends had already given their essays to teachers for editing. However, I did not feel close enough to any teachers to do so. Then, I asked Jessica to review my essay, and give feedback. I am extremely thankful I did. My essay has improved tons, and has gone from a corny piece about myself that I did not want to read, to an honest well written essay that reflects who I am as a person. Jessica was extremely helpful, gave honest sugesstions, and catches all the little grammar errors that people tend to miss.

I started getting tutored by Jessica in September. Before then School was a struggle. Jessica helps me understand all the material that I don't in school. She helps me with my homework without actually doing the work for me. Jessica helps me get ahead of my work so I am not confused in class. Jessica is definatly the best tutor I've ever had.

Where shall I begin? Jessica was amazing from start to finish. I decided to write my very own e-book and Jessica helped me perfect it. I tend to just blab a lot and have lots of information to share, but I don't always know how to word things correctly and make it al sound nice. For example, I might use 5 sentences to describe something and repeat myself several times, but then Jessica would magically make it still all make sense beautifully in one sentence. She made my book sound like I had 10 college degrees and yet, it still sounded like me. I don't know how she did it! She's amazing and I can't say enough good things about her. Hire her!!! like now!!!

Jessica is really a special person and a perfect tutor. She has been for me a friend and a motivator, not only a tutor. We have met for the last 3 weeks before my SAT exam. I'm from Italy, so I had a lot of problems regarding the English section, in particular the critical reading section. She has been really patient, kind, prepared and clear in the speaking language and in all the explications. Also she immediately was available, she brought to me her notes and also helped me answering all the math questions I had and explaining each word of the vocabulary that I didn't know. We are now waiting for the scores, but whatever they could be, she has done for me the best. I strongly recommend Jessica as a tutor to all of you!

My experience so far with Jessica has been amazing. I had studied for the SAT on my own and gotten a decent score, but after just a few tutoring session my practice test score improved 150 points... Though I've yet to take the SAT again (will in about a week), all of my practice test scores have been on an upward trend and I'm confident that that'll be reflected on the real thing. Jessica has given me valuable test taking strategies that shaved minutes off my section times and has given me the confidence to do well, even in my weakest area. She's very perceptive and was able to identify my areas of opportunity that I didn't even know I had. Overall, she's great!

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I'm part of a small network of educators. Some of us private tutors, some college professors, some elementary-high school teachers. We meet once in a while to discuss and share new techniques that seem to work; address challenges and help to find the most productive solutions; and build our professional network.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I was volunteering as a mentor on my college campus and a nearby elementary school. It didn't take long to figure out I love kids more than adults! It's the greatest feeling to be a mentor.
What types of customers have you worked with?
Lots of SAT/ACT prep and college applications! Plus Writing and Editing (my other full time job!). Lots of general homework support, organization, and social confidence.
