I have a genuine passion for teaching guitar that goes all the way back to when I started teaching at 16. With formal training from the Frost School of Music at the University of Miami, I bring a solid educational background to the table. What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
When I start working with a new student, I kick things off with a relaxed first session where we just chat about their interests and goals. I'll ask what kind of music they love, what they hope to achieve on guitar, and what experience they have, if any. After that, I usually put together a customized lesson plan that matches their style and pace. Each lesson is a mix of technique, songs they enjoy, and a bit of music theory sprinkled in. Overall, it's a pretty laid-back but structured approach that evolves as the student grows.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I studied music and guitar performance at the Frost School of Music at the University of Miami, which gave me a solid academic and practical foundation in both classical and contemporary styles. Beyond that, I've been teaching since I was 16, so I have plenty of hands-on experience helping students of all ages and skill levels. All of that training and real-world teaching experience means I can offer a pretty well-rounded and personalized approach to every lesson.
