FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Here is the actual structure, up front. Two movers and a truck: 165 dollars per hour, with a two-hour minimum. The smallest job we book is 330 dollars. Three movers and a truck: 225 dollars per hour, same two-hour minimum. Trip fee: a flat fee that covers getting the truck and crew to you and back. It depends on distance, and it is quoted in writing before you book. It is not added at the end. That is the whole structure. There is no weight minimum and no size minimum, so a single couch or one bedroom is a job we will take. There is no fuel surcharge added at the truck, no stair fee invented on arrival, and no heavy item charge sprung on you at the door. If something changes on move day, whether you added boxes or the elevator is out, we tell you what it costs before we do it, not after. Specialty materials such as custom crates, double-walled boxes, and blanket wrap are quoted as a line item so you can see exactly what you are paying for. Single items and specialty pieces such as pianos can be quoted as a flat rate instead of hourly. Tips are never included in your quote and never expected. If a crew earns one, that is entirely between you and them. Ask us for the written quote. If a mover will not put a number in writing before the job, that tells you something.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
1. You tell us what is moving. Address to address, floor and elevator access, and either an item list or a few photos. Photos are faster and more accurate than a phone estimate. 2. We send a written quote. Usually same day. It states the rate, the crew and truck size, the estimated hours, and any materials. Nothing hidden. 3. We confirm the date and window. We work Monday through Saturday, 8 AM to 10 PM, which means we can take evening and after-hours moves that most crews will not. 4. Move day. Crew arrives in the confirmed window, walks the job with you, protects floors and doorways, wraps and pads everything before it moves. 5. Placement and walkthrough. We put items where you want them, not in a pile by the door. We walk the space with you before we leave and you sign off. 6. Payment on completion. Card, cash, Zelle, Venmo, PayPal, Apple Pay, or check, whatever is easiest.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
We got started because of the jobs nobody wanted. The big van lines are built around long-haul, full-household, high-weight moves. When someone called them to move a studio apartment across Miami, or one antique dresser from Coral Gables to Fort Lauderdale, they either quoted a price that made no sense or turned the job down outright. Those customers had nowhere good to go. The choice was overpay a national carrier or gamble on two guys and a rented truck. We built Hercules to be the honest option in the middle: real equipment, trained crews, proper materials, insurance, and written quotes, sized and priced for small and mid-size moves. Moving has a bad reputation for a reason, and most of that reputation comes from pricing games. We decided the whole business would be built on not playing them.
