So here is a quick checklist of what to look for when you're ready to commit In a Personal Trainer. -Exercise science or other related college -Certification through leading organization (ACSM, NASM, ACE, ETC) -Basic Life Support (BLS)/CPR Certification -Experience: You definitely want a trainer with experience relative to your goals. -Experience with specific medical modalities: Trainers who are current on training clients with medical problems, injury or condition (such as being pregnant, difficulty getting pregnant, heart problems, diabetes, etc -A good personality: A good trainer will listen closely to what you say and make sure he understands your goals. -Pays attention and stays focused on the client: Good trainers will be focused only on you during your sessions and not have wondering eye syndrome. -Tracks progress: Good trainers will have ways to regularly assess your progress and makes changes as they deem necessary.
