RAVE.
For Mother’s Day my husband got me a full deep professional housecleaning. (That’s not the rave, though he is pretty awesome.)
The Rave is for Hope General Services LLC. I can’t find a site or a page for them, he found them on Thumbtack and the number is 407-820-4974. It’s a young couple team. These two incredible, magical creatures got to my house at 11:30 this morning and they did not stop cleaning for SEVEN SOLID HOURS.
I’ve never had a house cleaner, and I spent the weekend straightening up and decluttering, fully aware of the irony that I was cleaning up so other people could come clean up some more. I was embarrassed by what I unearthed on my own, after this year of having five people and two dogs stuck constantly in one house. But my accomplishments were as filthy rags compared to what these folks did to my house.
They came in like a hurricane. Dirt trembled before them. They swept, mopped, scrubbed and vacuumed every inch of flooring. They pulled enough dog hair from beneath my bed to make an extra dog. They polished baseboards and light fixtures, scrubbed the bathrooms and organized the toiletries. They cleaned my fridge, and even I don’t know what all was in there. I was afraid to ask.
My formerly mineral-encrusted shower door is crystal clear for the first time since the week we installed it. My bedroom is spotless and still smells like twelve angels have been in there barfing out gardenias. My ceiling fans are no longer drifting dust down like gray snow. My children’s bedrooms are immaculate, small objects unearthed from beneath their furniture and lovingly lined up on their dressers.
They DID MY DISHES which was NOT on the list, while I hid in my bedroom in a weird dichotomy of chagrin and ecstasy.
I did not ask them to do the closets or the laundry room because I’m not a TOTAL elitist snob. But they would have. Apparently they even do LAUNDRY although I am not sure I can handle that level of bliss. This much delight cannot possibly be good for mere humans. I feel like a giant slug sitting here while other people do my dishes. I am Jabba the Hutt. For one day I am the 1%.
This was the best Mother’s Day present EVER and now I am desperately trying to rearrange our budget to bring these supernatural beings back to my house at least once a month lest we descend back into squalor. They are worth every penny; in fact they are worth their weight in gold (though the actual charge was much less and in fact I thought they undercharged and paid them extra.)
I’m pretty sure their company is new so this is my pay-it-forward for two of the most pleasant and hard-working people I’ve ever met.
