Introduction: Communication is key in building the direction and vision for a project. I start every project with listening, gathering as much information as possible to get a good feel for the scope, purpose, tone and style the client is after. I want clients engaged in the design process, from initial concept to refinement stages to final delivery, to make sure the final piece is spot on. My background in fine art and illustration is something that sets me apart. A surprising amount of designers these days are adept behind a computer, but can't draw or sketch. I love the storytelling aspect of design. That's what great design is - what all art, really - is about at the end of the day. It's communicating ideas in a way that resonates, evokes emotion, or shows you things in a new light.
