Mariana was wonderful to work with. I have hired several resume writing services in the past and she is by far the best. I appreciate that she takes time to speak with you prior to working on your resume. This greatly helped in her being able to edit/produce an excellent resume because she took time to go over my job history and asked valuable questions. I also appreciated the follow up call after she sent my resume. She was professional, an excellent value, and did great job on my editing my resume for me.

This was the first time I have hired someone to rewrite a resume, but I must say that if everyone I have ever hired was this professional, diligent and experienced, the world would be a much better place. Mariana is very experienced, patient and hard-working. She stayed in constant contact with me and made numerous revisions and provided valuable suggestions. When we spoke the second time and I asked her to make changes, she truly listened and did everything I asked. This conversation took place at 9 pm and she promised that I will have a revised and reformatted version of my resume by the time I wake up the next morning, well... I did. When I looked at the time she sent it, it showed 12am.... This woman stayed up late at night while I was sleeping, making all the changes, because she gave me her word. That says a lot about a person. In fact, she produced the resume as promised within 24 hours and it was perfect. Then I was asked by the recruited to have the resume revised once more to make it into one page. And guess what? When it seemed like it couldn't be done, Mariana once again came through within a couple of hours. She revised it once again and ensured that all of the professional experience was highlighted. She worked very hard to make sure her client was happy. Mariana is worth every penny, in my opinion, she's worth much more than what she charges. Go ahead and hire her, you will be happy that you did. Thank you Mariana. I would definitely do business with you again.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I'm moderately new to thumbtack and until I reach 100 thumbtack hirs, I'm currently offering lower than usual rates (30-50% off depending on the service). The package in my quote is for the resume only. And coaching is FREE! I won't create your resume and hand it over with no advice - I want you to be confident in using it and I'll use my time on our calls to coach you as we go. I also provide cover letters and LinkedIn help, with separate fees or altogether as a package deal - just ask! I want to earn your business. If you are looking for something specific or have a budget, let me know what that is and I'll do my best to work something out for you.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I'll ask you to send me your current resume and we will schedule a 30 minute phone call. Typically, I need your resume 4 hours prior to our first call so I have ample time to review it. On our first call, we'll review what you would like the final product to be to make sure we are working towards the same goal. Then, I'll ask you several questions based on the resume you sent me. And we'll close with scheduling the follow-up call. Total call time is 30 minutes. Next, I'll work on your resume on my own and send it back to you prior to our follow-up call. Then, on the follow-up call, we'll review the changes. Make sure your satisfied with the look and structure and make updates where needed. I'll spend time coaching you and providing tips on how best to use the resume before and during an interview. When we're done, you should be satisfied with the product in your hand and the confidence to apply your new tool on your job search! Looking for add-ons along the way? These include cover letters, LinkedIn profiles, and career searches. Just ask, I'll create a package.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I have been doing this as a volunteer for college graduates and youth for almost 10 years. Starting about 3 years ago, I began volunteering with immigrants that have professional backgrounds but needed support in translating their skills to American Industries. And all along the way, countless friends and family looking to change career paths. Then 1 year ago I started to grow this experience as a business for myself and my family. I have a personal passion around community development and strongly believe that we make our communities better when we are all employed - especially in jobs we love! Let me help you find yours!
