FAQs
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Do not cut corners by hiring someone with little experience. I find many clients come to me after they waste time with tutor in college, who probably has great intentions, but lacks enough in field experience, and that is where teachers learn the most. Teaching is less about theory and more about its application to real people. Things that can't be learned in a book such as the important ways to change lesson plans on the fly when a student needs particular accommodations, or ways of taking in information, that don't mix with the plan for the day. There is also a level of patience that comes from experience, and I maintain one cannot teach without patience. Often, I provide clients professional, experienced, effective tutoring for just a small amount more than the novice, but the time with the right tutor from day one is priceless.
