Josh helped with a move out cleaning at a condo I own. The condo was cleaned by the tenant before they moved out but I just needed some finishing touches and overall cleaning before renting it out. It took 2.5 hours. Josh did a good job cleaning the window sill, the kitchen counter, the cooking range, bathroom & mirrors. Josh even explained to me about black mold and to take precaution. He explained areas that would require more cleaning and bleaching and explained what would need to be done. I am impressed by his dedication to work and the fact that he was very open and communicated very well. He adjusted his schedule to my needs as well. I would recommend Josh anytime!

We hired J&C as a professional organizer for my home that we moved into about 9 months ago, after still living out of boxes, and we needed help getting the clutter of it all under control in a home with 4 small dogs and a toddler. We had been away for the better part of the month of April visiting family, then had company for a week that left our house pretty disastrous, so as soon as I had a minute, I went on Thumbtack to hire someone to help me organize and his company came up. He seemed nice enough on the phone and was willing to help me out the day I called as a last minute thing, possibly that late afternoon, early evening or the next day. Here is my review: Josh told me he understood my needs as far as professional organizer (I explained that house CLEANING as far as dusting, mopping, etc. was NOT was we needed). Somehow, I guess he didn't understand the different between cleaning and organizing. Josh said he would be over around 7, 7:30. Then he said he would be sending his employee, Lloyd (a very pleasant, well-mannered young man) who didn't show up until after 9pm. Josh asked if he could come over to get paid that night, before the job was completed. I paid him $150 in cash at 10pm at night after he stood in our bedroom doorway which he pocketed after he gave Lloyd a part of it. We made some small talk while he continued to stand there, but after making some very sexist remarks about how he didn't want to "set a date" with his own fiancé because "women are angry" and she would "take his money". After some more small talk he left (and no help from him on anything, he didn't see the rest of the house or any of the work that the job might entail). His employee, Lloyd, was the one who worked - he went around with me and held open the trash bag while I organized my belongings. (In no offense to Lloyd) I could have paid my mother-in-law to hold open trash bags. Since it was getting so late (it was about 11pm and I was losing steam), I asked Lloyd if we could call it a night, and could we plan to finish the next couple of hours of cleaning that were owed to us on another day. I cleared this with Josh as well. Lloyd came 3 days later and helped me clear out the garage - he was able to move things and hold open a trash bag, but professional home organizing is NOT what I received from this company. After several texts from Josh asking me to write a review for him, I decided that I would write an honest review. The only pro about the job was his well-mannered, polite employee Lloyd. Other than that, Josh did not provide a professional home organizing service that I specifically requested. He later tried to sell me on $250 worth of cleaning when I adamantly said I did not need a house cleaner. He took our money and then repeatedly asked me to write a review for work that was essentially carried out by his employee. His communication skills were not professional, his demeanor (besides a dress shirt and khakis) were not professional. He was not able to provide the work on time (since he is the boss and all, he should be clear on when he is able to make it, and who will be there). My suggestion for the future of this company is that Josh be more realistic about the things he can and cannot do with their services. If you said you'll be somewhere at 7 or 7:30, your company (whether it is you or an employee) should be there at said time. If you are a small company, you should be doing some of the work as well, not standing there in the doorway while your employee does everything. You should not repeatedly text customers asking to write a review if you are not prepared for a true review. If you say you can help with home organizing, you should understand what that actually means. The difference between home organizing and cleaning is that it is not vacuuming, dusting, mopping, etc.; professional organizing requires someone who will go through belongings with you and help you decided what to keep and why, what to trash and where to put things. I would not hire them again. I do hope that Lloyd finds a job that appreciates his hardworking attitude, even if that means not being employed by this company.

Hi Liz, I'm so sorry that your experience was such an unpleasant one. It sounds like there were several miscommunications here and I really do apologize on behalf of myself and my company; this isn't the kind of experience we usually provide. The remarks regarding my fiancee were said jokingly and I'm truly sorry that you were offended by them. I would never seriously put down women or anyone else. In regards to the payment, I accepted the money that you offered that night only because I was leaving the country the following morning and didn't want you to have to wait for me to return. As I understood it, you wanted some cleaning done in addition to the organization and were going to explain further when Lloyd arrived. It sounds like there was a big miscommunication there. Despite short notice, Josh and Claudia accommodated our schedule and cleaned the house to our satisfaction washing floors and baseboards, dusting everything including light and fan fixtures. They went beyond what was asked of them and we were very pleased.
