Hired Carlos to complete a project with a very tight time schedule and budget. He agreed to do the work at an above our budget price but could start right away which is why we agreed to the higher amount. The day the project was to start he calls to say that he cannot find help to complete the project, after assuring everyone he was "good to go" and there was no need to interview anyone else. He had said theses were his workers. Apparently they were just going to be day laborers from in front of Home Depot or the Circle K. We now have a project that will be delayed not only impacting the schedule but also other workers downstream of his work that now must scramble to find other work on short notice in hopes to keep busy and feed their families. I would be very careful when dealing with him. His word does not appear to mean anything and that usually spills over to the quality and pride in someone's work as well. A repeated "I'm sorry, I'm sorry" does not correct the problem and he offered no other solutions to try and rectify it either. Again, "be careful" when dealing with this contractor.
