It's taken me a LOOOOONG time to do this review, partly because I absolutely hate posting negative reviews, and partly because I had alot going on, including being out of state for 3 months. I only post a negative review when the party doesn't take any responsibility and dismisses me. I'd much rather work something out that to end on a sour note.This review could be painfully long so I'll keep it as brief as possible.I hired Gizze Construction to do a light remodel, I needed some flooring replaced in 2 bedrooms and baths, some bathroom updating, baseboards throughout, and some kitchen updating. The price also included sending their cleaning crew out when everything was done. The Gizze's were initially great- responsive, patient and helpful. I felt comfortable with them so paid them in advance with the exception of a few things added as the project progressed. Shortly after the project started, it stalled out. When I asked when they were going back, they would give me a day but never show up or let me know. I understand people not showing up for work and of course everyone plays the Covid card but this happened several times and although I'm incredibly patient, I started to get upset because I needed this project done so I could move in to the house. Weeks would go by, then some work would be done, then I'd wait again for weeks. I finally said I'd have to get someone else to finish so asked if they'd send their cleaning crew out so I could at least get some items moved in to the house. The response was they didn't have a crew and sent me $200 to get my own.I got someone else to finish the job but what was already done was pretty bad (photos included). I painted the entire house before the baseboards were done so paint wouldn't get slopped on them. However, they didn't paint the baseboards before installing so got white paint on the walls and just left it. I mentioned this so they came back to touch up my walls (which are gray) but then used the same brush to paint the white on the baseboards leaving gray streaks in them. They also weren't properly finished with caulking and paint was slopped on the floor. They were cut inside the house so the sawdust was all over the house.The tile work on the bathroom floors was ok but the grout wasn't done properly, it has many places where it's missing. They did my kitchen backsplash which looks fine so not sure if a different crew member did that.The shower floor wasn't pitched properly so the water doesn't drain properly so sits in the back corner.The range hood vent hose was never attached. When the hood was installed by them, they didn't center it so I asked them to do so. To adjust it, the bolts have to be accessed from above so they knew both times that the vent hose wasn't attached so probably assumed I'd never notice. I noticed because when I turned it on, the drywall dust would shoot out on top of the stove so I opened the access panel to see why.Aside from the no-shows and not calling, the quality of the work just wasn't that great. It's probably fine for some commercial jobs but my experience just wasn't that good. In addition, the house was left a disaster- garbage left behind, appliances not put back, and house filthy.The photos just represent a sample of the many areas that weren't done properly.

My partner and I got left high and dry by a GC on a small apartment building we were remodeling and Gizze Construction stepped in and was able to stay close to the budget the other contractor had with us for the project. They ended up going above and beyond to get us back on track to meet the deadline before Thanksgiving. It worked out great with Anthony and his team. We really appreciate everything they did for us because they saved us thousands of dollars compared to the other bids we received from contractors who were willing to take over the contract we had with the GC who disappeared. We have hired them 4 times now and they never disappoint! We had them work on our restaurants by taking out the old tile and replacing it, they also fixed some damaged drywall, build an entire room for an office/storage and put in a restroom. We had them work on our home as well! They were prompt, professional and very kind people. Really went above and beyond our expectations. I highly recommend them for any work you need!
