However, I still had difficulty expressing myself at the level of a native American speaker, especially when it came to my accent. During eight months in Prof. Alex’s American Accent program, I made incredible progress. The mechanical training of sounds, intonation, and accent patterns was very important and helped me understand how to position my tongue and produce the correct sounds. This technical part of the training built a strong foundation for my accent development. But what made this program truly unique was Prof. Alex’s knowledge of psychology and psycholinguistics. Whenever I felt that a sound was not good enough, or when I could not clearly hear or feel the difference, he guided me through reflection. I start from learning how to speak the American sound, then I practice the articulation in the phonetic exercises. Each phonetic exercise is guided by a human based construction, so I know what I need to focus on to practice effectively! Instruction is REALy helpful bz it provides a lot of valuable info and works like an accent coach. After a lot of practice AI (Artificial Intelligence) evaluates my speaking and provides me with accuracy how good I pronounced the learned sound. I am super happy with this technology! There are a lot of sentences practice and paragraphs where I practice the sounds that I learned and American Intonation. All guided by human based instructions: Juts listen to and do - I have improved my speaking like a lot.
