FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am always reading magazines, articles and books on vaccinations, natural care, nutrition, preventative medicine and dental care. I have an excellent relationship with my veterinarian and their office and am able to stay current on new products or new treatments that are available.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
The most common type of daily jobs are mid-day dog walks but most of the time my day changes with any non-routine care that arises.
- Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
Recently a client called me, when her veterinary clinic was closed, expressing concern that her basset hounds behavior was very abnormal. I went to this clients house and observed her dog and her abnormal behavior and realized her dog had many of the symptoms of a slipped disk. We were able to get the dog treatment before all feeling was lost in her rear legs or surgical intervention was necessary. Spending 2 years working for a board certified veterinary surgeon gave me the tools I needed to assess the dogs condition and make a suggestion on how to proceed with veterinary care. The dog was able to be treated on outpatient and is doing very well now.
