- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
ALWAYS make sure that the software that a computer repair technician is installing is ACTIVATED with a GOOD LICENSE. Too often I see a computer repair technician install operating systems for a computer and the owner of the computer does not have a valid license for the software. What happens then is that the customer calls and we have to reinstall the operating system that came with their computer because they simply did not pay for the software they were given. The reason this is an issue is that Microsoft figures out you did not pay for the software and starts restricting your ability to do things, and in some cases stops you from using the software all together.
