Introduction: As a certified Myers-Briggs type instructor and consultant, I love to work with my clients one-on-one and/or in small groups to help them resolve personality and communication conflicts in the home, work and school environments. Often, what seems complicated is simple, and by applying straightforward Jungian-Myers-Briggs Personality Type Theory knowledge and understanding, my clients find their situations improve quickly, and for some, immediately! As a mother of many, I know how challenging family life can be at times and therefore, I am dedicated to helping support and strengthen families and relationships. I love to guide and teach them about their personality styles and preferences as well as their loved ones' personality types. Understanding each other's personalities is foundational to effective communication and satisfying relationships. Learning about one another's personality types can unlock mysteries, such as why certain activities and interactions are draining for you and yet energizing for your partner and/or child and why people approach deadlines, goal setting, and being on time differently; help decode your family's conflict triggers at home, work, and more. This is not your grandmother's marriage/family counseling; this is knowledge to empower you and your families to have successful, healthy functioning relationships for a lifetime, and best of all, it's a lot of fun! I'm looking forward to working with you soon! Sarah

Sarah's personality assessment is genius! She hit things right on the nail regarding how me and my partner think based on our personality types. Because Sarah understood how we process information, she was able to explain things in a way we understood- for example my partner is very open about religion/spirituality, therefore Sarah made sure to quote scriptures that related to whatever point she was trying to get across. I appreciated Sarah's availability outside of scheduled sessions. I also want to thank the people in the background-her family. I'm not sure how many clients Sarah has but it takes an unselfish family to allow her to be on call, so please share my appreciation for them as well. This was my first time turning to a relationship coach and overall it was a much needed experience that I would do all over again if I had to.

Sarah is one of those rare people who transcends boundaries. She can really empathise with people; a rare quality. She listens before advising and really does advise! Thank you for being a superstar!

FAQs

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

We work normally have a 10-20 minute free phone consultation (sometimes longer, depending on the complexity of the issues), then schedule either the first session which will focus on Personality Type Testing Assessment. Then, during that first session, I will encourage "storytelling" with that client so I can fully listen, clarify issues, and determine our dynamic approach to understanding the communication breakdowns, giving appropriate Type-related tools, mediating major issues that require third-party support and guidance, and empower the client(s) to gradually master the communication and conflict resolution skills on her/his/their own for their own independence and self-assurance.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

University of Miami School of Law, Juris Doctor, 2005; Florida Bar Association, 2006; Center for the Application of Psychological Type, MBTI(R) Personality Type Instructor, 2013; Center for the Application of Psychological Type, MMTIC(R) Personality Type for Children Instructor, 2014; Florida Supreme Court Certified Family Law Mediation Training, 2017; Life Coaching Certification, 2017; Florida Supreme Court Certified Mediator Application Review Pending (observation requirements in process), 2017; University of Michigan, BFA Musical Theatre, Magna Cum Laude, 1999.

  • How did you get started doing this type of work?

As a family attorney I am well-aware of the tragedy of non-necessary divorce, as well as the pain of soul-stealing marriages. Marriage/partnership takes two people - some marriages simply must end for the health, safety, and/or morality of the partners, and still many marriages can be rescued, mended, and made incredibly meaningful and powerful with the right kind of empowering support. Marriage counseling has a fairly high failure rate when both parties are focused on how the *other* person "needs to change," but my approach is more in line with the principles of self-awareness, preservation, improvement, and, finally, actualization of one's life purpose, values, and calling. This process frees a person to find true happiness in their given situation through meaning, purpose, resilience, and embracing their unique, extraordinary individual gifts... gifts that may have been unnoticed or unappreciated for a significant period... or even for a lifetime! My approach can change that course, and bring clients to the freedom of true appreciation of themselves, their partners, and the gift of taking care of each other.
