Sorry this pro can’t do your job, but we know other pros who can.
Introduction: I have always worked well with customers because my philosophy is that it's your party- not mine. All my parties and events are custom. I like to get to know those involved and find out what they want to make a great party. I enjoy watching the people at a party having fun. It's a joy to see guests laughing, dancing, happily talking with each other.

We hired Steve Christian as the DJ for my daughter's wedding and he was fantastic! As a former radio DJ, he played the right music to get the crowd up and dancing (and nearly everyone was up and dancing the whole time)! He did a great job keeping things on track (introductions, first dance, etc.) but doesn't "overtalk" it. He took requests from guests in stride and accommodated them whenever possible. He was VERY responsive to e-mails. Whenever I e-mailed him, I would receive a reply in the same day, usually within minutes or the hour. Hire him and you and your guests will not be disappointed!!

I coordinated a wedding and contacted Steve with short notice after having difficulty with the previously booked DJ. Steve was prompt and very personable and engaging with the guests. He had the best music and the most variety of music! A real crowd pleaser! I am excited to work with him again in the future!!

FAQs

  • Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

I've been fortunate to have had many great events just in the past year, but one stands out. It was at Southwood House. The couple had mentioned they wanted to recognize one of their grandparents, as the evening would coincide with their 50th wedding anniversary, and wanted to play "their song". They also mentioned they were the longest married couple of the evening. So I decided to make it extra special. At the appointed time I organized an Anniversary Dance, asking all married couples onto the floor. As the song played I began to thin out the crowd, asking for the most recently married to step to the side of the floor. I went up every 15 seconds or so. Five years, ten years, twenty years, as more and more coupled happily stepped to the side of the floor. Finally after 40 years there was only one couple left, the grandparents. Everyone cheered, and then- I played "their song" for them. It was a wonderful moment.

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

There are many DJ's. Choose one who takes a personal interest in you and your event. If they seem sincerely interested and invested in your event, they will work to make it happen.
