- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
1000-hr certification with the Boulder College of Massage Therapy which included Swedish Massage, Integrative Massage, Zen Shiatsu, Normalization of Soft Tissue, Trigger-Point Therapy, Neuromuscual Therapy, Deep-Tissue Massage, Muscle Energy Techniques, Myofascial MassageOrthopedic Massage, Sports Massage, Prenatal and Postpartum Massage, Thai Yoga Massage, Hydrotherapy & Hot Stone, Spa Viche & Wraps, Anatomy and Physiology, Ethics. 500-hr Associate of Occupational Studies degree from Boulder College of Massage Therapy which included Medical Massage, Trauma in the Body, intro to Craniosacral Therapy, Kinesiology. 600+hr training and assisting in Phenomenal Touch Massage which included Thai Massage stretches, Watsu, and advanced practitioner skills. 20-hr trainings in Orthopedic Massage with Whitney Lowe with special techniques to address chronic holding patterns in the body. 200-hr Hatha yoga teacher training 6 years of intensive study with the Diamond Approach / Diamond Heart meditation and Inquiry Practice group.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
My journey as a massage therapist began in 2008 when I lived at Shoshoni Ashram in Rollinsville, Colorado for seven months. I was trained in Ayurvedic therapies, began working with people, and loved it! I earned my Associate in Occupational Studies degree at the Boulder College of Massage Therapy, then continued to deepen my skills with The Institute for Phenomenal Touch and Orthopedic Massage training with Whitney Lowe.
