My strong point is that I am very invested in my students. I do not keep a large studio on purpose, so that I can personally devote all my energy and attention to each student. That, plus my performing background in several venues of singing, gives me an edge with the competition. I have performed Broadway showtunes, ballads, sacred music, popular songs and Opera. I also keep my fee very affordable.
The personal interaction with each student and the wonder of seeing them develop vocally in ways they never thought they could do. I listen to their beginning lessons and a few months later they already sound like a brand new person. This motivates me to work harder and try different approaches to the individual in order to see them realize their dream of "singing"....

I have worked with Mrs. Blackhall for just over a year, and in that time I have learned proper singing technique, my voice has become more powerful and I have more confidence in myself and my performances. Mrs. Blackhall is fully committed to helping each of her students and she expects the same level of commitment from them as well. She is supportive and caring, but also expects you to work for your goals and give your best effort every lesson. I can say with absolute certainty that working with Mrs. Blackhall has been a dream and she is the best teacher you could ask for.

I have been with Ms. Blackhall for more than one year. The entire experience is great. I started with not being able to sing anything and now I have learned and improved a lot on the singing techniques. My voice becomes stronger. I also gained experience on stage and performing in a professional style. She is a very sweet person and very knowledgeable in music.

Our experience with Mrs. Blackhall has been exceptional and opened so many doors for our son who started lessons with Her at an early age. Not only has he been able to sing at an advanced level but has stage presence for theatrical productions and has the confidence to enter talent shows and singing and speech competitions. Also because of voice lessons he has a greater command of foreign languages and is able to enunciate words in Latin and as well as Spanish, French and German. Her level of professionalism is beautifully matched with the care and compassion she has for the well-being and personal cultivation of each child. I see how thrilled she is at recital as she encourages each pupil to perform at their highest level. I can’t say enough about what a treasure she is to know and have in our lives.

I am 53 years old and signed up for singinglessons for the first time with Alice. What an amazing experience! She is a consummate professional who is also warm, kind, and funny. She stresses proper breathing techniques and has an amazing ear for how to improve one's singing. I've been attending Alice Blackhall's studio for just over a year and the improvement in my voice has been amazing. I would recommend Alice to both people who are interested in pursuing a career in signing or those like myself who are doing it for the fun of it! Oftentimes my lesson with Alice is the highlight of my week!

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Lesson are paid in advance, four lessons at a time. This will enable me to block the specific date and time for this one student. A cancellation policy is in place and will be discussed with the student at the time of signing on. There are no discounts, except if more than one member of the same family are signing on for lessons. This is decided individually.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I will first schedule a meeting, whereby both the student and I will assess each other in terms of abilities and personalities and decide whether or not we can work together successfully. I will listen to a few scales from the new student and decide if this is an individual that would profit from my teaching. I would then offer a 15 minute complimentary/basic lesson to give the student and myself an idea of what we are both looking for.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
The potential customer will need to review my resume and discover the breath of my experience as a professional singer and voice teacher, as well as my educational background.
