FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I do my work either by the hour or based on the project. Either way I let the client know what the project will entail and the estimated cost.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
This, for me is a matter of self-development -- keeping up with the technologies for the tools you use, for example computer and software that makes your work better and your job easier. When you work in the area of print and electronic media there is always something new to make you work easier. One of the most important things in self-development in my field(s) is learning the new and better software which is extremely time demanding and usually typically confusing.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I started writing for media in college and then started writing magazine articles in my 20s. My jobs working with the State of Florida earlier in my career, gave me a lot of experience and opportunities to write and design for multiple purposes -- from speeches, to feature stories, to position papers, to public service announcements. Also it gave me magazine editing and design experience as well. When I started my company it was sort of a hybrid, offering film and video production, writing and design of print publications, as well as designing advertising and public service campaigns. We where one of the first companies in North Florida to offer digital desktop publishing and design services, as well as digital video editing. We later transitioned into digital media design and production.
