Hired Hector needing a handyman having a lot of "to do's" after we moved into our home here in Tampa. Don't let his quiet, modest nature fool you; he's AWESOME. His background/strength he told me was painting, but HE was open to trying to do other work for us so long as it was within his comfort zone. So, not knowing how well he would do I had him start on a single project (tiling backsplash after we got new countertops), i.e., to see how it'd go, and from there I knew I had someone who could help me with many different tasks and he ended up working for us nearly every weekday over past nine weeks! Not exaggerating to say did great on each job we asked him to do. He helped us to complete about 90% of our long list post move-in (painting rooms; installing shiplap paneling on interior walls; planking on a 12' lanai ceiling; hanging light fixtures; repairing doors that didn't shut properly; putting up beams on ceiling in our LR, 19' long when assembled; restoring stone wall with fireplace with sealant; installing wall fixtures in 4 bathrooms we remodeled; installing two motorized lifts in our garage, to store stuff on elevated rack, that I'd bought on Amazon (BUT note he doesn't do plumbing work, or anything complicated that involves electric). Excellent with sheetrock, paneling, and woodwork. His attitude is great, has a quiet easy going demeanor, and work ethic is fantastic. From day one Hector arrived each day on time (we started work day at 9) and if running 5-10 minutes late would text to let us know and then would work thru until 5 with a break for lunch. Always focused on how to make sure the work wasn't just done, but done right. I can't overemphasize how pleased I was with his caring that we weren't just satisfied, but with his own personal attention to detail - he's truly an extremely skilled craftsman, and if somethings not quite right he doesn't stop working on the finishing touches until it is. That is a trait which is rare these days. I'm 60 and have hired many, many "handymen" over the years, and he exceeded all my expectations. Some tasks took a bit long to get done, others went very fast; but that's always seems to be the case if you want to get things done right. And he was not uncomfortable letting us know if he needed materials (I'd do lots of runs to Lowe's over our time working together). He'd also let us know as he worked through a project if he had issues such that we needed to consider choices for solutions, or before starting something if certain work was not within his skill set and he was not comfortable, or in most cases, although he'd not done something before was willing to try. English is a second language so sometimes it took a minute to clarify we understood each other/make sure we're on the same page, but I never found we could not communicate. In short, if you're considering hiring Hector for a project, don't think about it, just do it, you will be very pleased you did. p.s. photos are of some of the larger projects we did, but he did so many different things view these as simply a sample of his work

Hector was the most professional and hard working service provider I have come across on Thumbtack. He showed up, did the work efficiently and with the utmost attention to detail I have ever seen from an individual handyman! He repaired some baseboards where our puppy chewed perfectly to match the rest, he painted a home office for us with zero flaws or issues, he patched some minor screw holes and Sheetrock damage and you cannot even tell where the hole/damage was. He truly went above and beyond what we asked for and could have requested from someone in which we originally just asked to paint. After he completed the work and left I noticed areas in which I planned to touch up and paint and just clean up in general he had already noticed them and did it! True hard worker.

If you need to paint, you must hire Hector. His work is outstanding! Works efficiently and cleanly and shows up when promised. He's a nice and very talented guy who knows what he's doing. I'd absolutely hire him again and am referring him to any friend who is looking for a painter.

Hector did a fantastic job. I’m a Realtor and work with multiple contractors on a regular basis. I will confidently refer Hector to all my colleagues, clients and friends. He is a true professional. He answered on the first call, was consistently responsive, arrived early each day, laid drop cloths, taped, caulked, patched and sanded prior to painting and cleaned up each evening when he left. He is a perfectionist and it showed in his work. He went well above and beyond the scope of work and exceeded expectations. He took a home that looked tired and made it feel new and fresh in just a few days. Moving forward, he is the only painter I will use for my projects.
