FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I'm far from complicated. Twenty dollars an hour at my place, or a bit more if I should swing your way instead. By November I will have a music store interested in using me to teach and lessons will probably go from my home to the store for greater comfort for those waiting to take someone home or something more to look at, like a shiny new guitar. Whichever appeals to the student. I do, of course, like beginners and older folks just starting out. I'm not much for heavy jammers since I have a service connected disability in my ears that doesn't allow for loud noises. I have to take a medication for it. It happened because I loaded 5"38's into a cannon back during the Viet Nam Era. Not much ear protection back then.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I must say that it is difficult maintaining what I already know. I may study some chord arrangements that I can incorporate into songs that cause the songs to come alive with more depth or warmth of sound. I like deep, rich sounding guitar work. That stuff will catch my ear in an instant.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
Honestly, I came from a dysfunctional family, so I locked myself in my bedroom and learned how to play the guitar all alone and by myself. If there wasn't so much dysfunction with my Dad's second marriage, I may never have taken it as far as I had over the years. Music makes people happy being noticed for my talent encouraged my want to know more.
