My name is Kevin Hawes, and I am a college graduate student at the University of South Florida in Tampa. I have been playing piano for over a decade, and I am currently working on a master's in Piano Performance. I have taught students from 6 years old to seniors. My teaching style focuses on the needs of the student by giving them a strong classical foundation, so that they can confidently play any genre of music. Piano is the best instrument to pick up at any age!
RATES:
I charge $60 per hour, $45 for 45min, and $35 per half-hour.
Online lessons are $40 per hour or $30 for 45min.
IMPORTANT:
Lessons are held at USF’s main campus in Tampa, Florida. Commuting to students home depends on scheduling but is an option.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
First lesson involves introductions, assessing the student's skill and knowledge, and depending on the time left (varies with student and the time slot they paid for) developing their skill with a short lesson.
Future lessons will be catered to the student's needs, which may involve going through theory books, developing technique, or working on repertoire.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have played my instrument since I was eight years old, giving me over a decade of experience. I am currently finishing my bachelor's as a music student. I have taught in piano studios and worked with children and adult students.
