Laura Kuhl is an experienced lessons studio owner and master teacher. She successfully developed an award-winning brand in Washington D.C. that thrived on grass roots development. She was honored to receive overwhelming support from her community that resulted in exponential roster growth. Awards include the Arlington County Chamber of Commerce Small Business Awards Finalist in 2019 and the Arlington Magazine's Best of Arlington Awards Top Vote Getter in 2020. Selling the company in February 2020 brought her entrepreneurial journey full circle, allowing for new opportunities as her family relocated to Tampa, FL. She holds a Bachelors of Music in Vocal Performance from Mercer University and a Masters of Music in Vocal Performance from Georgia State University where she earned a talent-based scholarship and took private piano lessons for 10+ years. She has continued her vocal studies under the tutelage of Shaina Kuhn in the Sweedish-Italian style of classical singing and prioritizes continued professional development with seminars, classes, and workshops on contemporary pedagogy. With 10 years experience in the private studio and 7 years of teacher training experience, Mrs. Kuhl is well-versed in what it takes to be an effective teacher. In her role as director at Blue Feather Music, Laura regularly on-boarded her teacher roster and additionally developed quarterly continued development classes to ensure top-notch instruction. Her recent teachers/educators include: Shaina Kuhn, David L Jones, Cate Frazier Neely, and additional workshops and classes led by national leaders in their respective fields.
