K&R General Services came out and cleaned the 6000 sq/ft roof of our 5 unit townhouse ... They also included cleaning the gutters and the bug and bee cocoons off the walls ... The price was fair and showed up on time ... They also gave me a free estimate on painting the building without asking for it .. As President of our Townhouse Assoc and as a homeowner, I would recommend their services for anyone intetested, and used them again in the future ... I will definitely consider them to paint our building when the time comes .. Very satisfied

Max was impressive. We moved into a new home and had 2, 55” TVs to mount on heavy swivel mounts. He worked so precisely making sure it was perfect and we were happy. And then, I also needed large art work put onto the walls. I asked him if he could do them. He spent the whole day in my home putting each piece perfectly on each wall. I had a giant painting that needed to go on a 2 story wall, he measured perfectly and up it went. He is professional, polite, and an excellent spacial planner. He will make it all look so good! I will hire him for all of my needs that require someone who knows how to solve not only how and where to put our TVs to your artwork and mirrors.

I recently purchased a 2 bedroom 2 bath townhome in Boca Raton. After meeting Chris & Mike his Foreman, within 5 mins I knew not only were they honest & upfront, they're knowledge exceeded my expectations. When I purchased the townhome, my husband and I loved everything about it besides the popcorn ceilings. After calling numerous companies who claim to be experienced and capable of removing the popcorn and skim coating, the companies I'm referring to were unable to not only answer basic questions on the process to achieve a smooth ceiling, they also continued to remind me that the price was not a set price and that there was a chance the price could go up drastically from the original quote (2 companies said the same thing). After not being able to get a set price and a contract we decided to look for one more company to come in with the expectations of having a set price and an overall step by step plan on how the project would start and finish(basically an outline). Luckily for us we came across Honka & sons painting, not only did the owner Chris answer our call the first time, he also later the same day came to our residence within 2 hours of speaking to him on the phone. He not only described the process on how he and his team were going to attack the project, he even went as far as to outline every day what his expectations were to have accomplished. We were looking for an outline of the project, we got a complete outline plus a daily report by Chris via phone call. The most impressive part of the entire process was Chris and his foreman not only promised an outcome but delivered it exceeding our expectations and completed the project one day ahead of schedule. By far, hands down, the best painting company I have worked with in 40 years of buying and flipping houses. I should also note that the owner Chris told us that he would be involved in the project from start to finish. My husband and I didn't realize he meant he would be side by side working with his team to insure a quality end result. Because in his words when we first met, he said the most important thing to him was not the check at the end of the job, but rather his name is on the job.

Jose was great!! Professional, personable and excellent work. I just moved and needed help hanging an extra long curtain rod, regular curtain rods and extra large paintings. His work was good, clean and even helped me make a few decisions that were very helpful!! I would definitely use Jose again and recommend him.

WOW! What an amazing experience. Meg and her crew were so professional. They made sure the furniture was covered, taped plastic on the floors to avoid getting dirt or paint on them and worked without a break until the job was done. We had two accent walls painted. One in grey and the other in metallic faux. The walls look outstanding. In fact, we have hired Meg to paint the rest of the first level of our home. If you are looking for a real pro who knows exactly what she is doing, has great staff, and does beautiful work, Think Faux painting is the company to go to. We highly recommend her.

Luis and his team are phenomenal. I do not know anything about painting and they not only did a spectacular job at painting my new house, but he gave advice and suggestions which I desperately needed. He is extremely honest, and I felt comfortable leaving the team alone with my puppy while I went furniture shopping. The price was really why I hired him in the first place, but the service I got was far better than anything I could have possibly expected. I know that if I ever have any future paint jobs or need to refer somebody to a great painter, Luis and Tero Services are my 100% go to no questions asked. I cannot emphasize how happy I am with the entire experience from start to finish.

Jose was great. He came and assed the bathtub tile repair job and then completed the next day. High quality in a short time. We also had him repair the tile on the bathroom floor as it was leaking. He went out of his way to go all over town to find the right tile as well. He and his co-worker were very respectful of our home and cleaned up nicely before he left. I would hire him again for tile work.

Mr. Cruz presented a project time scheduled which he adhered to, and which assisted us to manage our time. He was prompt and informed us whenever he might be a few minutes late. Mr. Cruz was always courteous and did not mind questions asked. He assisted with moving heavy furniture and always cleaned up when he finished for the day. Needless to say, we were very pleased with his work ethics and with the end results of our painting project. We will certainly recommend him to our friends and family.

Worked with Bob from Opticks Painting and my experience could not have been better. After Bob and his team painted my apartment, my my girlfriend was so impressed with the work that she hired Opticks to paint her condo-and was delighted with their work. In my previous career, I often worked with commercial contractors and painters and am quite familiar with how they price out work, and the kind of games that are too frequently played in NYC. Bob and his team were professional, clean and really decent to deal with. I would 100% use them again.

A month ago, Danke General Services LLC worked hard on the remodeling of my house, they remodeled the bathrooms, the kitchen, painted my entire house and made my wooden fence. all the jobs are very good, the workers are very punctual and organized, they have given me ideas and they have advised me in the purchase of the materials. I am very happy and satisfied with the work. I thank you very much because you did a good job and you were economical.

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How much do painters cost?

The national average cost for an interior painter ranges between $450 and $900. Interior painters can tackle everything from complete color makeovers in each of your rooms to touching up an accent wall to painting pieces of furniture. The square footage and complexity of the project, along with the materials needed, are the main factors that will affect cost. Other factors include whether you supply the paint yourself or want the painter to do so, whether you move the furniture and do the prep work or ask them to do it, and whether any repair work is needed on the walls. Painting the ceiling and the trim will also have an effect on cost. The type of paint you choose can also raise or lower your house painting cost. A gallon of paint may range from $20 to over $100, depending on quality and brand. Ask your painter if they charge per hour or per square foot, and how much you can save by doing prep work (moving furniture, etc.) yourself.

How much does it cost to paint the interior of a house?

Interior house painting costs are calculated on a few key factors. Nationally, interior house painting projects range from $200 to $2,500. The wide price range indicates how much square footage, paint selection and labor can affect cost. One pro uses a laser to measure each room, subtracting the size of the doors and windows, and then bases the quote on the square footage of the actual surfaces to be painted. Painters may provide you with savings if you opt to paint your entire home rather than just having one room or an accent wall painted. For example, the average house painting cost for an 8x12 room with 8-foot ceilings is roughly $200, when contractor-grade paint is used. Painting ceilings, baseboards and frames can also affect cost. Pros may charge per linear foot to smooth and paint baseboards. In one area pros might charge 50 cents per linear foot to paint baseboards, while pros in another part of the country could charge $1.50 per linear foot for the same task. Painters may charge flat rates for painting door and window frames, with one charging $20-$25 and another $60 per door. Geography and regional costs to do business play a major role in the cost of interior painting. The same painter in a rural region has less to pay in taxes, transportation, insurance and overhead than they would in a major city like New York.

How much does a painter charge per room?

The cost to paint a room will vary based on the size of the room, the type of paint you select, any ceiling or trim work needed, and any repairs needed. If no repairs or other additional work is needed, painting a room with contractor-grade paint could range from $1 to $2 per square foot, including materials. Selecting a luxury paint (some cost more than $100 per gallon) will certainly increase your house painting costs. Here are some additional examples of average house painting costs, per room:

  • 12x12 room with a 9-foot ceiling: about $125
  • 12x12 room with an 8-foot ceiling: about $100
  • 14x16 master bedroom with a 9-foot ceiling: about $150
  • 14x16 master bedroom with an 8-foot ceiling: about $125
  • 16x16 living room with a 9-foot ceiling: about $175
  • 16x16 living room with a 20-foot ceiling: starting at $225
