I initially contacted Val-Trell in the fall of 2014 because I was looking for a property to purchase and remodel. I was particularly interested in purchasing a historic home and wanted insight on what to expect when gutting and remodeling a historic house. I know there are a lot of hoops to jump when taking on a historic house. I needed a contractor that I could trust and one that would be honest with me. When I met Hank (the president) he was friendly and seemed to know a lot about historic houses. He was willing to go with me to look at a few properties to see what I was up against. When we set up a day and time to meet, Hank was prompt and knowledgeable about the rules and regulations of remodeling a historic home. He met with me on two occasions to inspect potential properties. Throughout the process of looking for properties, not only did he make himself available to come with me but also on the phone when I had questions. As it turns out, I did not purchase a historic house but I did purchase a house that needed an extensive amount of gutting and remodeling. Val-Trell used top of the line products but were fair with their prices. After I moved in, I noticed that they installed and added a few things that I know I did not pay for. Val-Trell spent 4 months at the property and every time that I went to check in, there were workers there and Hank was present too. The workers were tidy and cleaned up every day before leaving. I love my new house and I'm looking forward to working with Val-Trell in the future when I finally purchase a historic house. Val-trell built an addition to our home. The workmanship was impeccable and no corners were cut, both in terms of the structure and the appearance. I know it's the safest room in my house if there were to be a bad storm. Plus, the room that was added looks from both the inside and outside as if it was always there. Thank you Val-trell!

Most projects are unique and each is priced on an individual basis.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
During our initial meeting with the customer, we determine whether or not architectural plans have been prepared. Architectural plans allow us to clearly and concisely define the scope of the work. If so, we then utilize those architectural plans to interpret what will be required to accomplish the project. Following this analysis, we then prepare a detailed cost estimate of the proposed project and deliver it to the customer for their review. If the customer does not have architectural plans, we then offer to prepare those plans for them.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Our company's president holds a bachelor's degree in construction from the College of Engineering and Applied Sciences at Arizona State University. He also possesses over 30 years of construction experience. This combination of education and industry experience forms the foundation of our company. The company's president works hand in hand with support staff and highly skilled craftsmen to complete projects.
