Moshe, did a wonderful job on our floors. Some time has passed and I was waiting to see how long the results would last and we are still very pleased. He gave us a great price on both the tile and marble in which he was very helpful in the after care tips. He was on time as well. We will definitely use his services again.

Being a commercial builder for over 12 years, I work day in and day out with lots of different sub contractors, Sky Marble has been by far one of my best experiences while working with a sub. They came on time everyday, they did not wasted any time and did a phenomenal job on my beat up floors which at some point I was thinking on replacing it completely, but after thinking on the hassle it will be, I thought to refinish it to give it a chance... and it was one of the best decision I made so far on the remodeling of my home. I recommend SKY Marble 100%

Our marble table that has been passed down in my family. The marble table top was broken into many pieces. I contacted numerous marble repair companies to have it fixed and was told it could only be replaced. Victor was absolutely wonderful! He understood how much it meant to me and explained the entire process of repairing it. After the repair, I couldn't believe how great it looked! Family members couldn't even tell where the breaks were! I highly recommend his company and wouldn't choose anyone else for any future marble/granite repairs! Thank you so much Victor!

Renew Marble and Tile Restoration's was fantastic. Within seconds of my request I had their phone call on a Sunday Morning and a subsequent appointment shortly after. I'm an international business traveler and time is of huge importance to me. Also, until the day the work was actually done, I was being re-assured and in contact with them. Works was excellent. I would gladly recommend them.

Ruan and his team were timely, professional, and did an excellent job with our master bath. The project included 24" marble walls, floors, marble wainscot in the watercloset, and marble deco tiles on the shower base. He removed damage and scratches to the marble done during construction and left everything looking better than new. Pricing was very fair for the quality of service and he was very responsive during bidding, appointment confirmation, and throughout completion of service. Very pleased and would call on his services again.

Dyego came to my home on a Sunday and did measurements and a complete quote. Within two days he was at the Marble yard picking out selections while face timing me for approval. I had a fully installed kitchen and three bathrooms by Saturday morning.

Steve from NuLook Refinishing was able to give my aging ( 20+ year old) "cultured marble" vanity counter-tops a fresh face-lift in less than a day. Two "before" photos show the bathroom vanities as they were when I purchased this unit. The two "after" photos show NuLook's remarkable and almost instant transformation. - - - Two thumbs up !!! - - - Plus, Steve was remarkably careful and tidy. He is a very nice, punctual and respectful gentleman. I recommend him 100 %.

Very professional and prompt! Our project was just for a two sink "L" shape vanity top. We didn't want to spend a lot of money as we are moving from the house and needed to complete this to get it on the market. Cherie came out same day to quote, Carlos came out the next day to do the template. We originally wanted quartz but because of the size and not wanting to buy an entire slab, we went to their shop and picked from some remnant pieces they had. They gave us a GREAT deal on what we chose and Carlos had it ready to install within a few days. He and his helper arrived within the time slot and got straight to work, even fixing my crappy attempt at providing support in the corners! They finished and the wife was very happy with the work AND they cleaned up after themselves. I highly recommend C&C Granite Marble Design for your projects! Thanks Cherie and Carlos!

To begin, my wife and I purchased a high-rise condo, and we began complete renovation. First, David the "Garbageman.com" removed the entire kitchen (please see my review for Garbageman.com). David recommended Franco from Stone Floors USA for concrete polishing. What a great idea! So, I checked Stone Floors USA Instagram, and was delighted to see Franco's work and the enthusiasm from his clients. I called Franco, and I was so happy that he was interested to take on concrete polishing in a nice high-rise condo, as well as able to provide condo management and me with appropriate business documents. Franco loves his work, and he gives expert assessment of all possible outcomes. In my case, the concrete floor was very old, so polishing was questionable, and others recommended just covering with new epoxy. But Franco values the natural, and his real specialty is restoration of natural stone and concrete. Franco has a particular edge compared to other stone and concrete specialists. Franco has the European floor polisher, which goes to 1700 grit, as opposed to the standard 1500 grit used in USA. So, he is able to get that older, more damaged stone or concrete appearing with glitter and shine. Franco does not stop until the floor is amazing, or just too dangerous to go any deeper. Franco is especially reliable in the sense that he takes such care in getting all his materials in and out of a nice high-rise building, quietly and with no bumps or scrapes in the hallways and elevators. Without doubt, I most highly recommend Franco of Stone Floors USA for stone and concrete restoration and polishing. Franco is highly professional, being the expert craftsman, as well as trustworthy, careful, and dependable. Now, I am in process of removing wood floors in another condo, and I cannot wait to see Franco do his amazing magic on these concrete floors! Thank you Franco!

    Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How can I get my grout clean?

Dirt, mildew and grime can make your grout lines look downright tragic. If you have the ability, DIY tile and grout cleaning is definitely doable. Your main obstacles are time, project size, availability of the right materials and effort. Your first step in tile and grout cleaning is making sure the surface area is cleaned of basic dirt and buildup and wiped down. Be sure not to use a bleach-based cleaning agent, which could react dangerously with the vinegar used in later steps.

Depending on the delicacy of your tile and grout, it may be wise to start with water and friction before proceeding to a cleaning solution. In the shower you can spray the area while brushing gently, or use a spray bottle filled with warm water on countertops or floors. If water won’t do the trick, try a solution of equal parts warm water and white vinegar, and repeat the gentle brushing motion. This combination should begin to lift dirt and grime from the grout. For additional tile and grout cleaning power, baking soda applied directly to grout lines and sprayed with your water vinegar solution can help suds off sticky grime. If your DIY cleaning solutions aren’t doing the trick, store-bought sprays and pastes may have more cleansing power. Rinse thoroughly after cleaning and enjoy your sparkling clean grout.

Tile and grout cleaning supplies include:

    • Old standard or electric toothbrush
    • Stiff bristle brush
    • Spray bottle
    • White vinegar
    • Commercial grout cleaner

How much does it cost to clean tile and grout?

The national average cost for tile and grout cleaning ranges from $190 to $250. Pros may charge a flat fee or by the square foot. Rates can vary depending on the type of tile and grout you have (more delicate tiles may mean specialized products or careful handwashing), how dirty your tile and grout are, and what part of the country you are in (regional labor rates and costs to do business affect costs). For example, one floor cleaning company charges 75 cents per square foot for tile and grout cleaning for projects that permit cleaning by machine. Another company may charge $30-$50 per hour for hand-cleaning of tiles. Companies often charge a minimum fee for services to ensure their business expenses are met when they accept a job, no matter how small. In addition, a tile and flooring cleaning professional may charge added fees, such as $25 or more, to move heavy furniture or appliances.

How do professionals clean tile and grout?

If you need tile and grout cleaning and don’t have the time or mobility for scrubbing your entire house on your hands and knees, it’s time to turn to the pros. Tile and grout cleaning professionals have industrial-grade machines designed for the sole task of cleaning the porous materials of grout and tile. Typically, a cleaning pro will come out to assess the job and provide you with a quote. Often they charge per square foot (for example, 75 cents per square foot), with higher prices or an hourly rate for areas that will need hand cleaning. The national average cost for tile and grout cleaning ranges from $190 to $250. Once onsite, the pros thoroughly clean the area by wiping or sweeping down and then vacuuming up any dry dirt. Next a chemical tile cleaner is sprayed over the surface, causing dirt to loosen and adhere to the spray; the industry term for this is “suspension.” The pros then clean the floor with professional-strength machines, which often use a combination of steam, brushes and vacuum to loosen, agitate and lift entrenched dirt. Your floor is then rinsed, removing all the spray. Usually a small room can be cleaned in under an hour. Applying a sealant afterward is recommend and will also affect cost.
