Star Dog Obedience, LLC offers real life training with outstanding results. We offer trading services for brand new puppies, all the way through advanced and off leash obedience. We train and certify service dogs. We can help dogs with fear, aggression and anxiety issues. I love helping people to be in harmony with their dog. It's my goal to "prevent shelter dogs" by helping people keep their dogs, instead of having the need or want to drop them off at a shelter.

Melody has helped me with 2 dogs. One was Deacon, an American Bulldog who needed training to be a service dog. due to issues neither one of us were prepared for, he had to wash out, but she helped me get my current dog and is helping get this one to be my service dog. Since I have some issues, it is slow going, but all I have to do is send her a text and she is right there with a suggestion or an answer. Her classes are great. Dogs love her so very much. And - when I needed an emergency boarding, she gladly took my Piper in for 2-3 days for me. You could not ask for a better trainer. Heck, even Deacon knew her name and would grab the "go bag" and be ready to see his Aunt Melody.

Melody and I have mutual friends whom recommended her to me regarding finding the right breed for my lifestyle and obedience training. I have a laid back lifestyle and I am in a wheelchair along with needing to follow the association's rules for pets at my apartment complex. After a month of seeing different dogs, Melody sent me a text message one day with this adorable picture of a Chinese Crested (Powerpuff). I fell instantly in love with him and she couldn't have found a more perfect dog for my needs. She started working with me on his training ASAP and still till this day I can contact her to ask any questions. She's always on time and her knowledge is so extensive. She goes above and beyond with the dog and their owner(s).

Melody has taken my six year old Yorkshire Terrier to new heights. She has become the perfect service dog always awaiting her next task to study, practice and ultimately learn. What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am required to do CEU's each year to keep my various certifications and memberships. This ensures I am always learning about the latest and greatest in dog training and behavior modification.
What types of customers have you worked with?
Dog reactivity - dogs that bark, growl or lunge at other dogs and people is a common behavior issue. Obedience - all dogs can benefit from obedience training. I offer basic through advanced obedience. Service dogs - from mobility and assistance to diabetic alert.
Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
Pawsitive Direction prison dog training program. I am incredibly proud of this project, and it's been going since Jan 2016. We are now gearing up for our fifth session!
