Introduction: I am an experienced and encouraging writing tutor, and I am thrilled to work on literacy or English related issues with any age group. At present, I work with two ends of the spectrum as both a college reading and learning association certified writing tutor at Palm Beach State College and a children's librarian at Palm Beach Christian Academy (pre and elementary school). At the college level, I meet students who would like individual help with essay writing, research papers, and grammar assignments. I also teach writing workshops, which are opened to all students. Topics include grammar review, vocabulary development, paragraph writing, planning an essay, revising essays, avoiding plagiarism, documentation, and making writing interesting. I find it enjoyable to bring clarity and deeper meaning to writing through proofreading, and so I have also worked as a freelance editor for several local authors and publishing companies. All of these concepts can be adjusted and simplified to help even the youngest emerging literacy student. One of the elementary level, I share exciting, thought-provoking, and often humorous stories with my classes and add themed crafts, activities, and imaginative play into the mix. I consider it a privilege to be a part of sharing literature and writing with all students because I believe that these skills strengthen all other subjects as well as joy in life.
