Wedding and Event Photography
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My standard hourly fee (excluding wedding photography) is $200 and includes up to 20 digital images and a 16x20 canvas print. Wedding photography packages begin at : $1500
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I attend several online seminars throughout the month to make sure that I'm up to speed on new techniques. I am schooled and knowledgeable of all the equipment that I use. I am an active participant in local photography groups and online training classes and blogs.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I've always been drawn to photographs, starting at a young age of 5 when my grandparents would blind my siblings and I with the flash cubes. Pictures have always been important in my family. I was on the yearbook staff during high school and learned how to process film in the darkroom. In 2000 my firstborn son was born and I wanted to document every moment of his life and did with the use of a Minolta. When our daughter was born in 2004 I switched to digital. People started commenting on the quality of the images I was taking and I realized I could get paid for doing what I loved so I committed to starting my business and have been photographing couples, weddings, families, children and events since then.
