Introduction: Dog Park Ready was originally founded in San Francisco under the name Canine In The City. When it opened in 1997, we offered training, socialization, daycare, and pack walking services for dogs of all abilities. Now, through the Dog Park Ready program, we bring more than 20 years of experience working with thousands of dogs to our new home in Atlanta. With our focus on family dog training, we're here to help with everything from obedience and manners, to behavioral issues and, of course, off leash reliability.

Dog Training

Scott was so great to work with! As first time dog owners, we sought out a trainer who is personal, knowledgeable and professional, Scott is all of this! He gave us so many tips and tricks on not only training our newly adopted 2 yr old lab/beagle mix, but also knowledge on feeding schedules and general caretaking. With the tools he’s given us, we constantly get complements on Marleys recall, listening, and how much confidence he’s grown. We’d recommend him to everyone we know!

Dog Training

He was very cordial and was very gentle with our dogs. He taught us lots about dogs and helped us with issues we were having. He is great with dogs, understanding them and so knowledgeable. We are grateful with all we learned!

Dog Training

Scott is a professional, he is great at his craft. He had Raider eating out of his hand, and not just because he had chicken in it. He taught my wife, who is not dog savvy, dog behavior, which help her understand Raider. The session was a good refresher for me as Raider has me more trained more than I have him.

Dog Training

I have a German Shepherd that’s a year and a half old and he is the most stubborn thing! Scott came over and help me understand how to communicate with him in several different ways. Before we had training I struggled to walk Bosco due to his intense pulling. Scott provided me with a new collar and taught me how to communicate through it and gave me multiple tips. Now it’s a breeze walking him! Scott has also followed up with me on how he is doing. I can message him any time for tips with any struggles I may be having with Bosco. In all it was a great experience! Not only did he train my pup but trained me how to properly communicate and train Bosco. Scott is an amazing trainer and just one training session has changed my dog for the better! Thank you, Scott!

Dog Training

Scott is exceptional in his training tactics & made a huge impact in very little time with our 18 month old Sheepadoodle. We appreciated his methods and would definitely recommend to anyone looking to train their dog! Thanks again Scott

FAQs

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

Let me be honest, I have no idea of a clients's situation and what they can afford, but I do know if you're contacting me, you can use my help. For that reason I am happy to offer flexible rates starting at $90 for the first hour, depending on your location.

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

The first step is a free phone consultation. During that call we will get a general background of your pup and what's going on and discuss your goals for training. At the end of the call we will arrange for our first session which will include an evaluation/assessment and discussion of your goals which will determine how training with proceed. During this first session I will also introduce some basic training groundwork and guidelines for moving forward. After that we'll likely meet once per week to review, troubleshoot, assess your goals and progress, and learn new skills. Training is a hands on activity on your part. You will be given homework each week that will sharpen your skills and build your relationship with your pup. In between sessions I am available by phone, text or video to answer questions and help if something's not working. Once we have reached your goals, I'll be available "on call" to help with any issues that arise.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I attended the Marin Humane Society's Academy for Dog Trainers and have attended seminars over the years...but it's the hands on real life experience that makes up the bulk of it.
