Introduction: Hello! I'm Nicholas, but I go by Nick. I'm currently pursuing a Bachelor's (perhaps a Master's) of Petroleum Engineering at the UofHouston. I've been tutoring my whole life - I saw what influence I had on others' confidence in learning math and selected to do it professionally in 2017. There's an ineffable feeling when you're capable of helping someone overcome a barrier. This feeling is the fuel that propels my passion for teaching and building confidence as it pertains to math and everyday life. Some of my interests include anything regarding sports (mainly Football and Track), gaming, streaming, working out, movies, anime, etc. My favorite college football teams are LSU and UGA. Unfortunately, my favorite professional team is the Falcons (don't judge me). My favorite track event to run is the 800 and 4x400 - my favorite event to watch would be anything under the mile. I play/stream COD and Madden, so the kids will love me. If you haven't noticed a reason to hire me yet think about these few things. How many people are patient and adaptable enough to experiment with a plethora of techniques to get the most efficient results for you or your loved ones? How many people are willing to compromise (if appropriate) to make sure I can accommodate any customer's needs? How many people are generous enough to not just take on a tutoring position but also be a mentor and role model for your child? I don't know the answers to these questions but I will vouch for myself when it concerns these principles and more. So who's a more suitable mentor... I mean "role model"... I mean "tutor"?😉

Mr. Nick has turning my daughter’s attitude and understanding around with Algebra. His interaction and meeting the student where they are is phenomenal and makes the picture for them clear for them to understand the math problems. He is the most effective math tutors I have worked with in my 15 years of hiring them. He has a keen understanding of how to reach these kids on their level. More importantly, my son had a very low C average when I hired him one month ago. However, since then, he has made a 100 on his quiz and a 100 on his semester exam final. I am very satisfied with the decision to hire him, and I would recommend him 1000%!!!!

Our daughter was super stressed about having a math tutor and Nick was so great at helping squash fears and engage her into the learning process. We looked forward to tutoring sessions. Great tutor for young kids.

Not even sure where to start...Nick was that good. His ability to connect with our son was amazing. Our son was so excited after his first session and was immediately asking about the next session. Nick was able to ensure he was engaged and found time to give him a pep talk about confidence as a critical skill in doing math just as much as the technical aspects. As a former teacher and school administrator, I would highly recommend Nick. As a parent--Nick is amazing and caring.

I am a high school math teacher (my current classes include Pre-IB Algebra 2 and IB Mathematics Analysis and Approaches SL) and Nick tutors one of my Pre-IB Algebra 2 students. It has only been a month and he has already helped this student improve their quiz and test grades. He is professional in all of our correspondence via email (which is about once or twice a week) and the student is very comfortable bringing their materials and questions to Nick. Although I cannot speak for his individual sessions, I know that the student has gained more confidence in their work in the classroom and has brought their grade up two letters under his tutelage. I believe in paying for quality, however, I also don’t mind negotiating (if it is reasonable) to better accommodate you.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I always locate my customers’ weaknesses first - I believe people are as strong as their most significant weaknesses. Once I have diagnosed the weakness I discover the most efficient way to simplify/strengthen that area and build more confidence.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have 3 years of college math in the pursuit of my Bachelor's and Master's of Petroleum Engineering degrees.
