Taking into consideration your short- and long-term goals, current abilities, previous experience, and even budget, together we will figure out the best plan for you. I do this by providing assessments the first time we meet. This initial session also gives you the opportunity to make sure that we are a match. No two people and no two voices are exactly the same, so I tailor my teaching around you, the student.
I provide a safe, comfortable, and fun environment where students can work on the music they enjoy most, including their original songs.
I work with any-level student, from ages 10 to 100.
My intention is for my students to understand how their voices work and play them to the best of their abilities. They should enjoy every note they sing and let their spirits soar.

Working with Ellen has been nothing less than magical. From the beginning, she has done an excellent job of motivating me to improve different elements of my voice while encouraging me that my voice is already great AS IT IS, which is very important to a vocalist.
Having worked with prior vocal coaches who completely undermined my self-esteem as a singer, it was a huge sigh of relief to work with Melissa and find my confidence as a singer.
In just the first few lessons she gave me exercises that have shifted the way I sing and dramatically improved the whole singing experience, not to mention the sounds coming out of my mouth!
Melissa is really an exceptional teacher.

I enjoyed my singing lesson with Melissa very much. She was honest. She helped me find my vocal range. She was on time. I enjoyed talking to her she gave me some sound advice as to do to improve.

Melissa Ellen is AMAZING! She is one of the best vocal coaches in the world and I absolutely believe that. I have had over a dozen vocal coaches in my life and Melissa has something those other coaches don't have. She gets it and she knows exactly how to explain it to me so that I get it too. No matter the problem, she ALWAYS gets me through it. I would recommend her to anyone who wants to learn how to sing or who already knows how and just needs some fine tuning and direction. She is not only amazing as a vocal coach but she is an amazing person as well and has all of her student's best interests at heart. I've been her student for over a decade and look forward to the next decade and what's to come. I can't say enough great things about Melissa. Just try one lesson and you'll see exactly what I mean. :)

I love working with Melissa. She easily nails what I need to work on when I am preparing to record or perform material. She is very easy to work with and very accommodating. Melissa makes lessons fun and enjoyable!
