Malika was AWSOME! I'm not very comfortable with numbers however, Malika was able to answer all my questions in a manner that I was able to understand and because I understood, it opened up a great dialog about my financial business concerns. Malika was very thorough and patient in her explanations. I had an excellent experience and I will use her services again. Malika provided me with 2023 tax preparation and filing services.

If I could give a zero rating I would. I truly hate writing negative reviews, as I try my best to resolve situations before they turn sour. I would strongly advise to never use her services for any tax related matters. I request Malika’s assistance with filing my 2023 income taxes. While she did prepare and file my taxes, she failed to communicate how I could pay the amount I owed state taxes. When I contacted her about this she told me to provide my account information so that I could pay my state taxes. I verified with her numerous times to ensure this was a proper means of payment as I did not want to incur the late fee and penalty. She reassured me that all was taken care of. Well of course she was wrong and I was slapped with an over $500 late fee and penalty. My state would have allowed this to be waived if Malika simply wrote a letter stating her mistake. However, she refused to write the letter and acted as if she never told me what she did, which was supported by our text communications. The lies, lack of remorse and un responsiveness to a problem she created really upset me. Please please please never have Malika file your taxes.

While we welcome all reviews, here are the facts. Maya reached out for tax prep on April 14. We usually do not take last minute rush clients. However, we gave a courtesy to Maya. It is our policy to provide each client instructions on how to file in the client copy tax packet (first page). It is the clients responsibility to read and follow the filing directions. Maya chose to file another way outside of the instructions provided resulting in late payment of taxes owed. No letter was needed from the preparer. We are at no-fault. The tax return was properly completed for this client with zero taxes owed except for one tax agency. It is the clients responsibility to withhold the proper taxes during the year or plan ahead to have 100% of tax owed paid on April 15.
