    The Best Group to Guide Your Health Journey
    I met Mike Hardy when my health had spun out of control and I finally decided to make a life change. I struggle with limited range of motion in both knees, have had partial knee replacements on both knees about 4 years ago, had lost a lot of my flexibility post-surgery due to inactivity, and had really let my weight get out of control. I wanted someone that was well educated in their field and brought on well-educated folks to work with them. Mike not only fit that bill really well, but has been extremely easy to work with. He has been more than patient with me as we have worked through my physical limitations and has challenged me more than I have ever been challenged. Mike sees the benefit of having the whole body functioning well and is helping me work toward achieving that. Mike is an excellent motivator. Even when I don't think I will ever get there, Mike keeps a positive attitude and keeps encouraging me with what can be one day. He is creative in the exercise workouts, tailoring them to pain issues, chronic problems, or weight loss goals, and continuously mixes it up so it doesn't feel like a routine. I have been following the nutrition and fitness programs for just over eight months and I am down 80 pounds.     Great experience and results with corrective exercise
    Mike has helped me tremendously over the past 6 months to improve shoulder function and build upper body strength to avoid injuries. The corrective exercise program was just what I needed to get started and now I've moved up to personal training and am seeing great results. He is very knowledgeable and is able to tailor an exercise program to just what I need. I couldn't recommend him more highly!

    I'm glad I found this business....
    I came to Medical Fitness with no level of fitness to speak of. Mike has worked with me for several weeks both nutritionally, as well as physically. My fitness level has increased dramatically in just a few weeks. I feel stronger and my clothes sizes are dropping.     I originally started with Mike in April 2016 for corrective exercise to help with cronic pain issues and within 6 weeks was feeling so much better I graduated to personal training! I am now so much stronger and basically pain free. When I do have pain flare ups Mike has given me the tools to treat them quickly. And the workouts are always different and "fun" :).

    I can't say enough about, Mike Hardy, and his, "Medical Fitness and Wellness Group." I had a friend tell me about Mike's facility after I confided to her how frustrated I was at not being able to lose weight. When I started with Mike I told him that I would like to lose 15 lbs. within a 3-month period. My son's wedding was coming up! I thought that there was a VERY slim chance that I would succeed at this goal. Mike seemed confident. Well, I lost the 15 lbs. in 3-months, after trying to lose at least 5 lbs. for years!!! Mike helped me accomplish this goal through strength training, and a further education towards my diet! I never thought this was possible, and I am now armed with the knowledge of how to go forward to continue my new life style, which has greatly enhanced my life!!

    I found Mike Hardy on Thumbtack. I have to admit at first I was very skeptical because I had never heard of this site before however, with that being said, I am so grateful having found Mike! I have found it very challenging,even though I live in Atlanta, to find a personal trainer that knows what they are doing. Mike is my seventh personal trainer and by far the best. The buck stops here. I am so blessed that I will never have to look for another trainer. I have an overwhelming amount of issues that made it almost impossible for me to think I would ever be able to walk again with any type of range of motion, let alone run! Mike, on the other hand was very confident that he could improve my range of motion and get me back to a better quality of living. Mike listened to my fears. He was able to identify what my challenges were and design a workout program that was specific to my personal needs. I am so impressed with his knowledge and expertise. In just three weeks I am pain free and I feel better than I have in years. Mike has a very flexible schedule and he definitely is very affordable.     OK. Can I tell you just how awesome Mike Hardy is? I recently moved to the Cumming area. Prior to moving I had been working out with a personal trainer 3-4 times/week for the past 3+ years. I had absolutely no hope that I would find a trainer as reliable and wonderful as the one I had been working with in my home town. Well, not only did I find a new trainer (Mike Hardy) but I found someone who is not only keeping me in shape (I recently lost over 125+ lbs) but also who has improved my workouts and has reduced my pain/injuries as well!! He has a repertoire of training techniques like none I've ever seen AND he focuses on my wellbeing as much as my figure! LOL! Meaning he knows the body/muscle structure and heals my aches/pains through corrective exercises to keep my body in the best shape ever. If you're looking for someone to help with building the body you've always wanted then Mike is your man. If you're looking for someone to help you with back, neck, shoulder, leg, etc. pain/injuries then Mike is your man. I just about never provide feedback/recommendations but in Mike's case I just had to tell my story. He's the best. What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
First and foremost we LISTEN. We don't just offer what we think the client may need. Our initial consultation is comprehensive to learn exactly what is going on with the individual before coming up with a plan. Our assessment is the most thorough you will find. We find the "root" cause of your issues and address them from a holistic perspective.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I take continuing education credits every year to keep my multiple certifications up to date.

We have affordable programs for everyone with no contracts. We also offer "virtual" Personal Training for those that cannot make it to our studio several times a week or want the convenience of training from the comfort of their own home. You will train with a live trainer over SKYPE. all you need is a free SKYPE account, a webcam, and some minimal workout equipment.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
We have a passion for helping people live the lives they always envisioned, regardless of their condition. I am reminded everyday from current and past clients how much I have helped them and makes me realize just how important my work is.
What types of customers have you worked with?
Corrective Exercise- Addresses muscle imbalances to get the client functioning moving again, and live pain-free. Personal Training- A comprehensive personal training program that focus's on weight loss, cardiovascular,muscle toning, flexibility, balance and core, as well as nutritional advice. Stretching- A mix of static and assisted stretches to keep the body moving the way it is supposed to. Massage Therapy- Sweedish, Deep tissue, and Neuromuscular trigger point therapy to relax overactive muscles that may be causing pain, and dysfunctional movement in the body. Nutritional Consultations- We provide a comprehensive 8 week transformation nutrition program that is based on blood sugar stabilization and provides significant, sustained weight loss. Stroke Rehab- Re-educating neuro pathways to bring back movement and strength to the affected side.
Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
Just finished with a client who was having lower back pain and keeping him from the things in life he enjoys doing. He had seen Chiropractors, Physical Therapists, Doctors, nothing worked. He now has no back pain, sleeps better at night, and can do all the things he was compromising before for fear of re-injuring his back.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
It is the wild wild west out there when it comes to personal training and post rehabilitation. Many do not have a solid formal education or a solid grasp of human anatomy when designing and implementing exercise programs and you can set yourself up for injury. All of our programs are backed by the National Academy of Sports Medicine, and the American College of Sports Medicine. The two Gold stars of the training continuum. All of our staff have formal educations and degree'd in their field, as well as multiple certifications. do your due diligence and ask your trainer about their certifications and more importantly their formal education in the respective field.

How important it is to stay active, strong, and work on our flexibility as we age. Do you have any formal education in your field? Do you have any references I can talk to about their outcomes? How often do you re-assess for measurable outcomes? Are your protocols and techniques based on proven scientific research?
