FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I offer 5% discount for military and 5% for retired individuals. I am not the cheapest installer.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Questions I frequently ask my customers are what the purpose they have for the remodel/installation; is it a forever home, are you planning to move, rental. Depending on what a customer responds I will give my honest feedback - whether it is worth their while (regardless if it will give me the sale or not). I also ask what they believe the cost will be to perform the installation - to see if they have a realistic idea of the actual cost. Finally what they would like to have installed - very importantly to me that what they are getting installed is properly installed. Although tile can be installed by anyone with the desire to do so - for it to last; preparation and materials can make an installation last trouble free for many years or conversely a poor installation will become an eye sore until it will need to be replaced again (wasting time and money).
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I had the good fortune to train with an Italian tile setter (5 years as helper/5 years as a setter). He is/was blue ribbon certified and a master of his craft. I am constantly upgrading my skills with new techniques and products. I attend trade shows when I am able.
