So far my daughter loves it. She has been trying to sing since she was 3 years old. Mrs. Pia is making her aware of things that she could change to get better.Nov 2, 2016Verified
Very fast response on initial inquiry. Good prices for private lessons. Pia is very knowledgable and engaged in her students endeavors. She communicates frequently about auditions, camps, scholarships, etc. to her students.Mar 12, 2016Verified
Haven't really had any individual lessons yet. Just initial meeting and then he's had to sit and watch others sing.Aug 19, 2015VerifiedPia U.'s reply
Hello Brent, I am sorry you don't seem to be satisfied with what little Joshua has had a chance to experience at the studio. Sessions have just began a couples of weeks ago and I was very clear that we started with 2 master classes of which Joshua missed one. I also went over this with your wife and it is listed in the agreement we reviewed together which is in the front of the binder Joshua received. It is a shame that Joshua missed the second session because the day he missed was the day where the peers that he is so longing to get involved with where here. There is much to be learned from observing what performers do right and not so much, how they view themselves, how they view their performances and the performances of others. About 10 of the kids that were here where new to the studio and they all found these sessions very valuable as all students have for as long as I been teaching. There is a necessary mind set to singing that goes beyond technique and that is what allows and individual to stand in front of a group and demand their attention through a performance. Much of this is learned by listening and realizing that almost everybody has the same concerns about being on stage. In addition, master classes also give the studio a chance to meet each other and to collaborate in a supportive way and to learn to take and give supportive criticism. Please let me clarify again, Joshua had only been here once as part of the studio when this posted. His first private lesson was last week and all this was covered when we did the enrollment. Your son has an amazing vocal instrument! I am sure that, with my years of experience as a vocal coach and with the success I have had, I can help him achieve his music goals as long as he is willing and open to it. If you have any questions, please let me know and I will be glad to answer them. My direct email is TheUgarteStudio@TheUgarteStudio.com. Please feel free to contact me at any time. Sincerely, Pia Ugarte
