Avoid Lasting Impression Cleaning & Junk Removal – Damaged Furniture, No Accountability
I strongly advise anyone considering Lasting Impression Cleaning & Junk Removal to think twice and look elsewhere. My recent experience with this company was extremely disappointing and costly. Multiple pieces of my furniture were severely damaged due to their negligence. This review serves as a warning: do not book this company for any moving services (or any services, for that matter).
Unprofessional and Careless Service
I scheduled this company last minute to move a handful of items from Lawrenceville to Atlanta, expecting at least a basic level of professionalism. The job was relatively small – four large items and a few small boxes – including a coffee table, a computer desk, and a cream-colored couch. Despite the short notice, I trusted them with my belongings. Unfortunately, that trust was misplaced. The movers handled my furniture with appalling carelessness, resulting in serious damage to every major item they moved:
• Coffee Table: They lifted my wooden coffee table improperly, snapping the legs clean off. This wasn’t a fluke accident of a fragile piece – it was caused directly by the movers improperly grabbing and hoisting the table, causing the legs to break off entirely. The coffee table is now completely unusable.
• Computer Desk: My sturdy computer desk was also broken during the move. I discovered cracks and structural damage that weren’t there before. It appears they either dropped it or smashed it against something. Regardless of how it happened, the desk was ruined due to their mishandling.
• Cream Couch: Perhaps most upsetting, my light cream-colored couch was delivered filthy and damaged. The movers had furniture blankets and plastic wrap available but did not bother to use them properly. They loaded my couch into a dirty truck without adequate covering, and it arrived with dirt stains and even a tear in the upholstery. A cream couch is very easy to soil, and their failure to protect it with the blankets they had on hand is inexcusable. The couch now has permanent stains and damage that occurred solely because of their neglect.
It was painfully clear that the crew had all the necessary packing materials and blankets yet chose not to use them effectively. This level of negligence in handling items – especially furniture – is completely unacceptable. They treated my belongings like junk, ironically living up to the “Junk Removal” part of their name by nearly turning my furniture into junk.
No Compensation and Lack of Accountability
To make matters worse, when I contacted the company’s manager/owner to report the extensive damage, I received nothing but a cursory apology. There was no offer to repair or replace the broken coffee table or desk, and no offer to clean or compensate for the ruined couch. In fact, there was no compensation of any kind provided for the thousands of dollars in damage they caused. It appears this business does not carry insurance, or if they do, they made no effort to utilize it to make things right. A simple “sorry” from the owner does not even begin to cover the cost and hassle I now face in replacing or repairing my furniture. The lack of accountability here is staggering – they caused severe damage and then effectively washed their hands of the situation.
A professional moving service should stand behind their work and take responsibility for any damage caused. In this case, Lasting Impression Cleaning & Junk Removal demonstrated zero accountability. An apology without action is meaningless. I am now left with broken and damaged furniture and out-of-pocket costs, all because I made the mistake of hiring this company.
Do Not Hire – Thumbtack Should Remove This Business
Given this experience, my strong recommendation is do not hire Lasting Impression Cleaning & Junk Removal under any circumstances. The risk to your property is simply not worth it. No customer should have to go through what I did – watching their furniture get destroyed by the very people paid to move it, then getting no remedy or support afterward. I regret ever trusting this company, and I urge others to avoid them to save yourself from the same grief and loss.
I also call on Thumbtack to seriously reconsider allowing this business on their platform. Thumbtack should require all listed moving and service companies to carry valid insurance and ensure they take care of customer property. If a business like this causes damage and refuses to compensate customers, they have no business being on Thumbtack. I strongly suggest that Thumbtack delist Lasting Impression Cleaning & Junk Removal for their poor practices and lack of accountability. This would protect future customers from falling victim to the same negligence.
Bottom line: This company’s service was a nightmare. Avoid Lasting Impression Cleaning & Junk Removal entirely. They left me with a truly lasting impression – one of broken furniture, frustration, and disappointment. Save yourself the trouble and find a reputable, professional mover instead. Thumbtack and Google readers, please take this review to heart and do not book this company.
