Contacted her to be my bookkeeper. After 4 months of no work done, missed tax filing date, and no communication I has to remove her from my system and try to find someone to fix my books.

Hi! As you know, I had a death in the family the last week of October. It was unexpected. I had hospital visits that week and then family and arrangements. It came on the heels of another family death less than a year prior. It did knock me for a loop. We lost an employee the first week of November as well. It was not a normal time for our company. However, it was not 4 months of no work. We received the QBO log in 9/23, worked on PayPal reconciliations and chart of account changes through mid October. Bank feeds weren't connected until October 19th. I did email November 2nd about the death and hospital visits that had occurred the week prior and you told me not to worry, that you would follow up on a week. You did not, but I did not either; I should have contacted you at the very least after the holidays and normally I would have followed up regularly and completed the work. However, these were not normal times, both in business and personally. I did offer in my first message to work something out with you, but did not hear back. I appreciate your reaching out to me originally and I'm sorry it didn't work out.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Free initial consultation and review of prior tax returns! Bookkeeping rates are dependent upon the job required (number of transactions per month, level of work requested, etc.). Monthly rates are a minimum of $100 per month. Tax returns, tax planning and business planning rates are based on the type of return required and scope of work required. We will assess your accounting needs and provide a free estimate.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Phone or in-person interview to assess your accounting/tax needs. We also review your books for free and will write up an assessment of what needs to be done to bring your books up-to-date. This assessment is included in the one hour free consultation at no charge. If you only need tax returns or financial/business planning, one of our accountants or a CPA will contact you to set up a meeting. We also provide a free consultation with review of your past tax return(s).
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
We are QuickBooks ProAdvisors with Advanced Online Certification and are also Xero Certified. We have accountants and a CPA on staff. We can work with any accounting program. We are Salesforce savvy as well. We have been in accounting and business for over 30 years.
