We woke up to a warm freezer and fridge, and had toss half of the food. After exhausting all my efforts trying to get my refrigerator working, I gave up. I jumped on Thumbtack around 5:30pm on a Saturday and Appliance Repair solutions had a tech out before 7:00pm as promised. My refrigerator is now working great. The issue was an inexpensive issue on the refrigerator's circuit board. I could have been potentially ripped off from any other company and been told it was a blown compressor, and I probably would have believed it. I'm so lucky to have found an honest company who took good care of us. Thank You Appliance Repair Solution for your great service and professionalism. Your number is saved to my phone and will call you guys again in the likely event that one of our piece of crap Samsung appliances breaks on us again.

Stephen and Jeff came and picked up a chest that needed repair. They took it, repaired the problem and returned it to my house a week later. They did a great job and were courteous and professional. I would recommend for a furniture repair/refinish project.

Had to call a repairman this last week to fix my oven as it would not heat up past a certain point. I would turn it on and it would just blow gas into the oven, but nothing was heating up and only started to stink after a while. Called these guys, Atlanta Appliance Repair and I liked the customer service. Spoke to a young lady over the phone, who sent a technician out to my house on the same day. Turns out it was an easy fix and didn’t even require any part replacement. Thank you.

Arrived early. Was ready to go. Did a great job. Even though this job was plumbing/appliance oriented, I'll be calling him for many different projects in the future.

Appliance Tech was recommended to me by a friend. I was having a problem with my dishwasher. Josh came out the same day I contacted him! He was right on time, and gave me a courtesy call when he was about 10 minutes away. He discovered that it was a plumbing problem and not the dishwasher. He was friendly and professional, and his service fee was extremely reasonable. He has been in the appliance repair business for 16 years. Appliance Tech is a small family-owned business. I will absolutely call him again if I need an appliance repaired.

My old washer had a crack and was leaking. It was not a cheap repair so I decided to just replace the washing machine with an older machine. Due to our budget we got an older washer that is pretty basic. The washer is a little bit smaller than my old one but I can't complain. The washer is quick to wash, cleans excellent!!, and not noisy at all. It's a sharp machine and I was honestly shocked at how great it is for the price and that its older. I could not be happier about it. Thank you A-Team!

I went to school at bay state school of technology. There i spent 1. 5 learning how to repair and install all major appliances and heating and air units. From bay-state i worked for sears and later manage several apartment complexes as a supervisor. In 04 i decided to work for myself and started Mr. Fix It. When i come to your home i come in with experience and knowledge at what i do. Most of our jobs are referrals. We promise satisfaction every time with 1 year warranty on all our repairs. I love to do what I do. I love seeing the smiles on people's faces when I repair their AC on a hot day. I love to see the smiles in my customers' faces when it's cold at night, and I come to their home at 2:00 a.m. to fix their heating systems. It is very rewarding to fix an oven to save on Thanksgiving Day. I mean I could go on and on.

    Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How much does refrigerator repair cost?

Refrigerator repair generally costs a fraction of the price of a new fridge and shouldhave your appliance up and running again in no time. The problems your refrigerator is experiencing and the parts required to fix it will affect your repair costs. Where you live can affect labor rates, which will raise or lower your costs. Here are some examples of average costs:

    • Diagnostic fees: $50-$100. Repair pros often have a service call fee or diagnostic fee to account for their time traveling to your location with all their tools to assess the problem. If you choose to have them repair the fridge, most pros then credit this fee toward your repair cost.
    • Parts: $20-$500. A new compressor averages $200, an icemaker $300, and computerized components such as touch screens and control boards average $300 or more.
    • Basic repairs: $180-$400, including parts. This price range can include repairing the evaporator or fan motor.

    How long do fridges last?

Refrigerators can last 10 to 20 years, although the most common lifespan is about 13 years. If your fridge is acting up, consider its current age when deciding whether to invest in repairs or buy a new one. Common easy fixes include faulty thermostats, dirty coils and clogged drain lines. Thermostats and dirty coils can be generally be fixed for an average cost of $80-$100. Clogged drain lines, which usually cause leaks, can often be fixed for under $200.

More complex refrigeration repairs such as replacing a bad compressor or replenishing low refrigerant can cost more because of expensive parts and higher labor. A new compressor costs an average of $200, not including labor. If labor is an average of $75-$100 per hour, and the repair takes 3 hours, you’re looking at roughly $500. Consider the age and purchase cost of your fridge; investing $350 in a $600 fridge that is 8 years old may not be cost-effective.

Hire skilled professionals for absolutely everything.
